Okay, hypothetically if we had Wesley Johnson on this team, along with Gilstrap and Brackins do you think McDermott could make this team into a winner?? It sad to say, but I'm still not sure our coaching would be good enough to get us into the tourney with 3 potential first round draft picks.

what good does this do in the middle of the season? does anyone think the fans bailing on the coach is going to help the team chemistry? why is it to hard to just cheer for the team, and then evaluate the situation at the end of the season?

I think this team would be better because something this team needs is leadership and WJ would have provided that.
As much as people want to hate on him, WJ clearly made the right decision for him. I still dislike the manner in which he did it, but I don't fault his choice one bit.
As noted, Gilstrap would not be here if WJ was still a Cyclone, so for the most part this discussion is meaningless.

I believe that we're required to have 4-5 threads about him per week. Please don't ruin this. We have a quota to fill.
If Mac wasn't here and we in fact had Johnny Orr still with Wesley Johnson, but no Brackins or Gilstrap, but yet we had John Wall, and Luke Harongody, do you think MAc would be successful wherever he actually is? I don't cuz he sucks.
Who thinks Gilstrap is a 1st round pick? He's got talent but with his injury past and age I think he's borderline even being drafted at the moment.
I would say there is a little difference between age and playing age. I would say right now he's a mid second round pick.

If the players won't play hard 100% of the time and do what the coaches say, there is not much the coach can do. What would the GMac haters say if he only played Garett, Steiger, Boozer, Gilstrap and Hamilton with Christopherson coming off the bench?
