The short yard plays on 3rd and 4th down the past month have been terrible. Garrett needs something other than running Marion Barber at the defense, it has been very ineffective. I have yet to see them try to run a qb sneak or play action pass to Witten.

It's pathetic, period. Run the same play again and again - with no adjustments expecting different results. This is pretty good synopsis of Garrett's OC tenure. I think he could be a brilliant OC, but once teams figure out his scheme/formations - he's not tough to stop because he does not adjust.

Why Dallas has not yet faked with Barber and quick toss the opposite side to Jones on these plays is beyond me.

Thank u Truclone - i texted my buddy the same thing....Garrett trying to once again show how great of an OC he is.....i mean yesterday that second 4th down play was literally 4 inches, when the center set the ball he had it. All they had to do was fall forward in a gap. instead a slow developing running play.

I said this a couple of weeks ago when they tried 4 times at the goal line.....why not put in both Barber and jones so the offense has options.....have jones flair off one side and run straight ahead. this will give romo the chance to audible if they're in a bad play and split the defense out a bit....why no motion nothing. Just line up and try and push haynesworth a yard....not going to have a lot of success running right at his strength.

Anyhow thats the only thing they have to work on because the offense looked good and the defense is looking lights out...this week will prove what they got!!!!!

Didn't Dallas have 1st and goal within the 2 yard line against the Giants? If they would have scored on that possession that would have probably already had the division title secured instead of having to beat Philly Sunday. If they do not win a playoff game this year Wade need to go bye bye. He has never won a playoff game in his career as a head coach.

Yes.

Not correct. They'd have the same record as Philly (11-4) and would still need to win. Currently Philly has one more win than Dallas and with a Dallas win, they are tied. Tiebreaker goes to Dallas.

Actually, they did have Jones in there for at least one play during that first and goal against the Giants. IIRC, the 4th down play had Barber in an H-back position and Jones as the tailback. Quick hand off to Barber (fail) instead of a fake and then pitch to Jones out left (IMO, success).

Am I the only one who thinks Tashard Choice should be getting more touches?

Marion Barber isn't fast enough to get 20 touches per game. He was most effective as the backup for Julius Jones. I thought Parcells was nuts at the time, but he may have been onto something. Barber has never rushed for 1,000 yards, and the year he rushed for the most, he was Jones' backup. Parcells decided to start him in the playoff game against Seattle, and he was not nearly as effective.

Barber's greatest value is getting the tough yards at the end of the game. However, when he's been taking huge hits all game in the first 3 quarters, he's not nearly as fresh, and he can't pound a tired defense like he did before.

I really like the skill set of Choice. Continue to use Felix how we're using him, give Choice some more carries in the first 3 quarters, and let Marion go back to being a closer.

I don't think it's a coincidence that Dallas all of a sudden has a hard time finishing drives when they don't have a back they can trust to pick up short yardage.

Your right, I forget they would have the same record. So let's kick some *** this weekend and hopefully the stars align and get the 2 seed!

AGREE 100%....

The difference is you get speed going laterally it affords a lot of cutbacks for 1 yard or in yesterdays case 4 inches......

There's so many things other then pounding the middle....the Dallas Oline is not nose to nose, its getting someone moving and then using leverage and strength....Leonard Davis is a big big man, but Albert Haynesworth lined up right over his nose on almost every short yardage play and simply got off the snap and collapsed the gap between him and Gurode thus blowing anything up the middle up.....

How bout a playfake, etc etc bootleg.....

JASON GARRETT - C'MON MAN!!!!!!
