basement bars

thanks, but did not find much

I have an idea for the surface. I have seen it before. Lay down a thin layer of epoxy and then take some sort of Cyclone material or memorabilia and lay it on tope and let it dry then cover it with another layer of epoxy. Hell you could do that all around the whole thing.

I don't have a bar yet but I'm working towards it. I have the sit down area. People can sit and watch either the big screen or I have the TV in front of the treadmill that can show something else. I've sold the MAME that's sitting in the corner so I now have room to build a bar area if I want. I may just say screw it and throw a sofa in that corner and a small fridge. It's not like I have a party every week.

BTW-This whole basement project cost me very little and it was completely unfinished when I started. I ordered the countertop online, found someone cheap to do all the drywall, mud, tape, etc. and did it in stages. I even built the screen myself. I wouldn't call it high quality compared to the ones you see at home shows but it's been up for a couple of years and I've gotten my money's worth.

I spent just as much or more putting in granite counter tops in our kitchen:mad:

I don't have much yet for ISU stuff except two helmet's and an autographed football, but plan on adding some Insight Bowl stuff soon :)

Looks very high quality. Did you have this done when you built your house or was it an add on?

We bought it this way, just adding furniture, toys, etc. as we go along. It was a builder owned home so I can't take any credit for it at all. There's also a wall of built-in's for the tv/stereo that I can fwd pictures of if you'd like.

I have added a framed picture over the bar sink, an old black and white almost panoramic that captures a very early Iowa State football game. I'm trying to keep it classy and almost a little old-school, so need to get a leather helmet added to the collection. Next winter my goal is a nice pool table with cardinal felt and an ISU logo in the middle.
