MLB: Register exclusive: Cubs legend Ryne Sandberg to manage Iowa Cubs

Dang, you beat me to it. Just saw this on Twitter. I look for him to be the Chicago Cubs manager in 2011 or 2012.

Yep, Lou's contract is up in 2010. He might get one more year, and then it's Ryno's turn. I like Lou, but nothing could beat having Ryno...

I'd rather have Gordon Beckham.

I love Lou, but the guy just seems worn out. Everytime you see him interviewed, it looks like managing is physically and mentally taking a toll on him at this point.

This!

This is awesome news love RYNO and I see him in the majors coaching in two years max. Hopefully it is in Chicago

Is it OK for a 35 year old man to bring his Ryne Sandberg baseball card collection for autographs? And a jersey, several posters, and every magazine he was ever on the cover of. Hypothetically speaking of course.

Great news for Ryno!

I'm totally jazzed about this!

I'm a huge Sandberg fan.Always will be.
June 23,1984 was one of the best days of my life.(I expierienced it
with my Dad and Grandpa...nuff said)
I was also at his last game at Wrigley,on September 21, 1997(was also the last game during which Harry would perform)

That said...I've follwed his managerial career closely as well.I'm not convinced he has what it takes to manage in the majors.I've seen multiple games of both the Chiefs and the Smokies. He has a very conservative managerial style.Almost too conservative. One that may work in the AL.

I'm super excited to see him in Des Moines. I just hope he has learned some things and progresses into a ML manager. If anyone can learn how to do it,he can.I just dont want to see him come up to Chicago too soon.
Give him at least 2-3 years at Iowa and he will help end the drought.
