Just curios how many fans are like "screw HB cause he just used us!!!"

and how many fans respect his decesion(sorry can't spell) and are still fans of his and will cheer for him.

??

I repspect him going to UNC. I don't respect this dog and pony show kicking dirt in all of our faces today. He could have narrowed it down to 3 with us not being in the 3 just to let us know.

ehh I'm over it. would have been awesome, but since we aren't good at sports i can't really blame him. Lets win this year and worry about next year next year.

I don't like that there is only 2 options. I wouldn't say "Screw him" because right now he is dead to me. I really don't care about him like I don't care about the #4 recruit in the nation or the number #15 recruit or whoever. HB dumped on ISU by toying with us for 4 years and it hurts, but I don't wish ill will to him, he is just nothing to me. Whatever he does is fine as long as it doesn't hurt ISU...

Wow...Boo hoo people. Quit acting like he deliberately dragged us through the mud. There were 6 teams on that table and only one got picked. The kid is first class and five teams were going to be disappointed today regardless. I am glad to be just in the same conversation as those other 5 schools.

Good Luck Harrison.

My 20-month old daughter handles disappointment better than you do. Now that is a sad fact.

I'll take door No 3, Bob. (I don't like the poll choices) To wit: 3) Harrison Barnes made his choice, and I'm sorry he did not choose ISU, but I cannot say I am surprised. I wish him well, and I wish the Cyclones well. Things are looking up for both of them.

This exactly. There should be a third option, called "we respect your choice, we wish you well, but don't invite all of your girlfriends to your surprise engagement to someone else."

I went back and viewed the poll results to date. I am disappointed that there are 34 persons who voted on this web site to "screw him". A lot of people criticize the thinking of JP, GMac and others, but the fans have a role, too. 75% of us responding "screw him" is not the kind of thinking that will help us get our programs to the next level.

Embarrassing, really - and very shallow.

I hear ya, and I know I am more upset than I thought I would be.

However, I think "being in the conversation" with those schools hurts more than anything esle. It seems pretty obvious now that ISU was not in consideration. UNC = he wants to play for a NC, which wont happen at ISU any time soon.
To the national media we look like idiots for having any hope in the first place. That sucks. More so than him choosing another school. I would have been disappointed, but eventually fine with that. He should have said that it was down to UNC and Duke tw months ago.

I really do think this hurts the reputation of ISU. GMac, though no fault of his own, will be considered a complete recruiting failure for not keeping the hometown kid. It sucks a lot.

The only way this could have been worse would be for him to have gone to KU and come back and scored 40 pts on us.

I wish him the best. He was free to play basketball wherever he wanted. It is unfair to expect him to not enjoy his day and want to share it with his community just because he happened to grow up in Ames.

I only take issue with his statement to the effect that he will always be a Cyclone.
He will always be an Ames High School Little Cyclone, perhaps.

But he is NOT an ISU Cyclone nor will he ever be. He may have a certain fondness for ISU for various reasons, but he is NOT an ISU cyclone. Fred Hoiberg is an example of an ISU Cyclone.

Yeah. Rough way to do it.

I enjoy UNC basketball. I enjoy HB. But, I don't tend to remember all of their guys, because I have other things to do. That's basically what will happen here, and not as a spite thing.

I'll see a highlight here and there, and say, "Oh yeah," but that's pretty much it.
