My vote is going to Coach Wally Burnham...:notworthy: not just because of last weekend, but look at the season to this point. The defense has just been getting better each week. And believe at this point the are giving up avg of 19pts compared to last year... 42pts! Who's your coaching MVP and why?

Of the top tier, I would say Wally. The behind the scenes guys, its a toss up. I dont know enough about their every day efforts.

I'll say it again, I hope he sticks around for a long time, and doesn't want to retire anytime soon.

I dont think he will retire any time soon. The guy is sharp and his players love him. I think its hard for guys like him to want to sit on the couch all day after coaching.

CPR. He's passionate, the kids want to play for him, he's getting good recruits, and he was the guy who brought in all these excellent coaches.

I vote for Bill Bliel.

He took a below average OL from last year and made it into the best line in the conference with NO additions, and only 1 senior.

Bill Bliel or Shane Burnham.

Bliel for the aforementioned reasons. Burnham 2.0 for the the way the defensive line is finding a way to collapse the pocket. They aren't always getting to the quarterback but the pressure being generated has increased from week to week and these guys are getting off blocks much better.

If you want to nominate a coach for the defensive line, then Coach Bray gets the nod. I said earlier this week, that Coach Pope needs props for having the number one RB in the B12; despite an injury.

Wally gets my nod. I can't get over how refershing it is to watch an Iowa State game and not feel like we have to score everytime we have the ball because our defense can't get a stop.

I think there are a lot of MVP's on this coaching staff.

Hat's off to Coach Rhoads. It sure looks like he put together a pretty good crew.:notworthy:

I can't honestly say that I've been as comfortable with a coaching staff in my lifetime than with this staff. This staff goes down in my books as the best, at least as far back as I can remember.

MVP goes to....either Rhoads or Wally.

McCarney's early staff wasn't too bad....(Rhoads was on it.).

Mac's early staff included some outstanding coaches. There were also a couple of weaker links and I don't believe that they had the recruiting connections of the group that Rhoads has assembled.

I'd say the coaches with the biggest positive impact this year have been Bliel, Wally and Ash.
