Where is the problem on the extra points and field goals? As bad of kickers we've had.....we've NEVER had this many xtra pts blocked. Is it coaching? Or is it the o-line? Whichever.....someone needs their a$$ chewed! It will cost us another game! I would of thought after the K-State lose that it would of got turned around.

Just think how crappy it would have been if kNU had pushed down and gotten a field goal at the end there to win the game.

I still think we need to line the holder up about 3 yards further back than they have been to give Mahoney more space to get the ball in the air.

I had the same thought, but I'm not sure if that's legal?

Just a little off topic but...

Seems like we've seen more blocked FG's than normal this year.

Iowa blocked two in a row to escape UNI
Alabama blocked one to escape Tennessee today

How 'bout a blocked aTm FG attempt as time runs out to escape with a win next Sat.? Since things are starting to bounce our way.

During the game I was commenting that it seems like Grant was waiting til the ball was set to start his approach. He needs to be starting it as the ball is snapped. That split second is the likely difference in timing on the blocks...

I did hear Jack Whitver mention something similar in the call-in show also...

You raise an interesting point. I am about to grab a cold beer and watch the game again (DVR is great!). I will watch for that.

I noticed last year that Grant has a tendency to kick some balls with a very low trajectory, rather than lofting it.

I'd think that on a PAT it would be more like a chip shot...any kickers out there?

True, but not the problem today. On the Fg, there was no chance. On the PAT, it may have been a little low but we got knocked back three yards and that can't happen. When it happened I put the KSU one on him because that came out low and a little left like he came over the top. These weren't the same

Speaking of which, this is the first ISU game, football or basketball, that I've DVR'd and they've won! The secret is that I recorded one channel, and watched another. Jinx broken!

I have had the same hex at my place as well. I watched the channel I was recording but got a 1 1/2 hr late start because of my daughters volleyball game. A bit different than your method but the results speak for themselves!!! I can't wait to have Christy Johnson in my living room in nine years. I was fortunate enough to play golf with her at a Cyclone event right after her hire. She is a quality person and her coaching ability speaks for itself.

How old is your daughter? Maybe yours and mine can be team mates.

I think MOST of the missed kicks are the line's fault. If you look at today's blocks, and the SOME of the misses from the KU game, we go for the defender's legs but they bust through and are COMPLETELY stretched out. It's hard to make a kick when someone is jumping right in front of the ball!

Ya I think we had a better chance of trying to kick it between Suhs legs that kick it over him on the FG.
