I know that everyone here, let alone Cyclone plsyers and coaches, have to be sky high right now. Indeed, lots of people are happily talking about how many wins we'll have the rest of the season. But let's not look past the Aggies.
I know that a feeling of exuberence and exhileration is going to permeate the Jacobsen Building and surroundings the next few days, but I hope that the players can get right back down to business. I know that at times A&M looks like a horrible team, but it's their defense that's bad. Frankly, I really can't see Jerrod Johnson and his receivers conveniently making so many bad throws and dropping so many passes--let alone all of the other turnovers. Unlike Nebraska, A&M has a good offense.
So we really don't need for this to be a trap door game. We really need this win, and not just for Bowl eligibility. We need to beat the teams that we should beat. We need to look good for potential recruits in Texas, both the current seniors and underclassmen. And we need to win just to win, to demonstrate continuity and consistency.
So while I'm wandering around tonight tilting at windmills, I hope that the Cyclones are celebrating as well. Only thing is, when that Sunday night dinner and film session rolls around, I hope that they are all back hard at it, feet on the ground, figuring out the ways to beat Texas A&M.
