Ok so I was watching the Office last night and saw a preview for this... sweet jeezus it looks intense... and supposedly based on true events.

The Fourth Kind (2009)

I sheepishly admit I'm fascinated by UFOs, alien abductions, all that stuff. Not to say I believe every story or report, but the subject as a whole is quite intriguing.

begin the friday discussion.

All I have to say is "THE GRAYS"
So what if they take a few of us once in a while, its better than having them destroy us like what happened to Tom Cruise in War of the Worlds

Having grown up watching X-Files every Friday night with the lights off, as well as all those stupid Fox specials "Alien Autopsy Abduction Goes to Jail" or whatever, I am also intrigued by this subject.

This film looks like it could be a real mind ****, though.

Is that the next Tyler Perry movie? Once he runs out of Madea goes to whatever movies?

I am looking forward to The Fourth Kind as well.

I did a little reading up on it, and the "true events" are that a lot of people go missing in whatever town in Alaska this takes place in. The logical reason is due to the towns alcoholism rate combined with the nasty terrain. So basically the movie took all of these missing people and just assumed, well its got to be aliens, wtf else could it be?!

I was looking at from the perspective that "Blair Witch Project" gave the impression of "true events" as well....

"JFK" also portrayed itself as "true events" even though they got every fact wrong aside from the date Kennedy was shot....
