Earthquake in Afghanistan

Right around 12:30 am, got the opportunity to do some "bed-surfing", when a 6.2 earthquake hit Northeast of Kabul. No damage that I can tell in my little neighborhood.

It was the first time I was in one that I can remember. Pretty interesting experience, and we haven't experienced any after shocks that I'm aware of.

A roller. Started out gentle, and built up to a crescendo.

Bed surfing is a trip. Luckily, I woke up at 12:15 for another reason, and was awake for the whole deal.

It's a Russian building; welded steel square tube construction. Just like a Piper Cub.

Double for me. I took honors english as a freshman, and not only did we read Zen & the Art of Motorcycle Mx, but there was a girl named Phaedra in the class as well. I think she had a twin sister too.

Not Lee Poague then. I suspect you might be of a different vintage, since I don't recall any Phaedras in class. I had honors freshman English Fall of '88 and it was taught by Dr. Poague. We also read the Pirsig book. Got really tired of "quality".

Close! I was 1990. Agree with you on "quality". That was a tough read, and writing MORE about quality as assignments was worse.
