I went on cyclones.com and looked at our future schedules. It appears that our schedules are formatted to not give us an off-week, just like this year. Yet all other schools in the Big12, I believe have an off-week this year. Now I enjoy having the game to look forward to every week, but doesn't this put us at a disadvantage? I mean, how good would A-Rob be if he has a week to rest and then a week of practice going into one of these games on the schedule? That goes for about everyone. Bumps and bruises need a chance to heal, and the performance will go up. Are the future schedules subject to date changes?

Yeah, that really sucks. The Big 12 really looks out for us.....always. Uh...Not.
I like haveing a game everyweek too....but I understand a break is necessary sometimes. We're just getting screwed.

The K-State game this year and next has eliminated our bye week.
Until we go back to playing someone the weekend after Thanksgiving (which we should do as I believe the TV spots exceed the teams playing) we will probably not have a bye week.

Our bye week is at the end of the season (Nov 28) meaning we get a extra week to prepare for the big 12 championship game

Kansas State will not have an off week in the middle of the season because of Farmageddon this year and next.
That, and no way in hell the Big 12 ever schedules the southernmost team to travel to the northernmost team at the end of November. All them good ol' Texas boosters wouldn't put up with that nonsense.
Yes it does suck, but this is a good thread for me to voice my annual opinion that there are favored teams in the Big 12 when it comes to scheduling. Nebraska is the perfect example and it gives me pleasure to mention this somewhere in a post every year.
Nebraska never has and never will play Oklahoma and Texas in the same regular season. At least this has been the case since the formation of the Big 12. I brought this up once on the Nebraska Rivals board and, of course, was severly reprimanded to say the least. I was called an idiot because apparently I was unaware that computers develope schedules, and schedules just fall out the way they fall out.
I pointed out that computers do not program themselves. They simply do what human beings tell them to do - well at least for the time being. I guess it is possible that humans will lose control some day, but I think for now, it is safe to say that man does still determine the development of football schedules.
So everytime a Husker fan tells me that the Huskers duck no one and will play any team any time any where, I point out this scheduling "glitch".

This year there are 5 T-giving Weekend games, and 5 TV spots. ISU-KSU would have had to fight BU-Tech for the last spot -- and BU-Tech moved their game to the new Cowboys Stadium, which would have been another easy excuse for TV to showcase that ridiculous building.
That's interesting. I never thought about that before. I'm not sure if I'd rather have it that way or the way ISU does. It sure is nice getting it over with, and then not seeing either of those teams for two years. If you're getting teeth pulled, might as well get them pulled all at once!
I'd rather have it the way we do. We get credit for playing in the Big 12 every year, but 2 out of every 4 years we don't play the best two teams. And one out of every 4 years we can have a ridiculously easy schedule with no Texas, no Oklahoma, no Texas Technical, and Nebraska at home. If we plan our nonconference correctly we should be set up for a guaranteed bowl game and a good chance at 9+ wins at least every 4th year when that schedule rolls around.
Nebraska's schedule against OK & TX is the same as most of the north teams - every year they play one of the two. ISU and KU are the two exceptions that play both traditional power schools on a two year on followed by a two year off cycle. The difference is that when KU plays them, it's one at home and one on the road. ISU's schedule is either both at home or both on the road.
