Chris Williams latest: ISU recruit wants to play like Jason Kidd

Thanks for the link...really good info there.

I guess I missed the boat on this Petersen kid, no idea about him coming to Ames.

As for Haluska looking great so far - quite interesting. If Chris is accurate, it will be even more interesting to see how he is treated in Hilton. And moreso, how his brother is treated if/when he shows up for a game.

The saga continues! :)

I see Petersen is a Clinton native (like myself). I really hope he can be a solid contributor next season. We might be leaning on him & Haluska quite a bit...

I love it when they want to work hard and prove themselves. As for Adam Haluska, I think its time to let it go. It was fun pestering him as a player on the floor, but when he comes to Hilton to watch his brother play he should be recognized as a person and should be treated kindly. Welcome aboard Sean and Bryan. I am happy to see you here.

i love petersons attitude! we could really use a p.g. who can dish, shoot, and grab some boards! although @ only 6'1, more likely 5'10, we'll have to c how well his nose for the ball is.

I'm open to Sean as long as he doesn't pull an Adam on us and transfer to Iowa a year later. No point in booing the kid when he chose us and is walking onto the team on top of it. He's not Adam so can't punish him for what his brother did to us.

It's Petersen. I almost fouled it up too...that will be one we'll often mess up.

I agree though, his attitude seems great. A guy that knows who he is, his abilities and wants to fit them into the G-Mac system.

Seems smart, if nothing else. And Greg likes smart players.

If Peterson were like Jason kid he would have left Junior College after his Sophmore season and went to the NBA.

As for Little Haluska. I heard he does not start on his Junior College team. Is that true? Remember when you hear about someone doing well in practice he could end up being a Brock Jacobson or Alex Thompson type player. You know the guy who kills everyone in practice. Then sucks in the game.

I never heard anything about Brock killing guys in practice. As for AT...he practice/played for Alford.

'Nuff said.

Petersen is a legitimate 6'1", but he doesn't have a big body. He's stronger than he looks, though. And he's a very good jumper. He was his high school team leading rebounder, I'm pretty sure.

He's a very unselfish player who is just a smart player. I don't know how much he'll play, but ISU was on him pretty hard to walk on this year for a while (I think they knew McIntosh and Dodie may be gone), and I think there was a pretty good reason for that.

My roommate that refs some JC games in the area a few times a year as well as HS saw Sean play and didn't think he was anything spectacular from what he saw. He's walking on so anything he does is going to be bonus really since you don't really expect much from guys that walk on.

As many times as you have posted. I don't really beleive you have not heard about brock Jacobson and Practice and how he does not miss a shot. I just have a hard time beleiving that.

So ISU has a player coming in from the #1 & #2 ranked JUCO teams in the country near the end of the year and both sound to be TEAM players. I think that is important that they both are from good teams and already are use to complementing the stars of the team.

Chris also said ISU has 5 freshman coming in did your just miscount? Brister, Garret, Boozer, Brackins, Vette, & Staiger. So now a total of 8 new faces that could be seeing playing time next year.

peterson will probably be the smartest player on the team, he is 6-1 and can dunk so he can get up and grab some boards if someone doesnt want to put a body on him

Good Read Chris, keep up the good work.

I like this line: " Mark this down: Sean Haluska will play quality minutes for ISU next season. That is a guarantee."

- Keep.

Adam started some games for Indian Hills and came off the bench some games. But you got to understand that they were loaded. Though he came of the bench some times he was still I believe a Honorable Mention player in their JUCO district

sounds good to me

wow we must have two of the best walkons in the U.S this yr. Makes everybody better even if they just mostly practice.
