Big 12 Conference Media Teleconference

Irving, TX – Big 12 Conference Commissioner Kevin Weiberg, and Big 12 Conference Board of Directors Chairman and University of Nebraska Chancellor Harvey Perlman; along with John Wildhack – ESPN Executive Vice President, Programming and Acquisitions, and Chuck Gerber – ESPN Executive Vice President, Collegiate Sports will participate in a media teleconference at 12:30 p.m. CT, Thursday, April 26, to announce a major new media agreement.

The date on the release is wrong but it was sent to media outlets today.

We can only hope. If the Big 12 falls any further behind in regards to TV packages, we may never catch up.

What do you mean? The Big 10 still has an epsn contract. At least for ESPN itself. Its all the ESPN+ games that will be changing.

I'm referring to all the Big10 games on ESPN2... now that they have the Big10 Network, what will ESPN air? In my opinion, it would be huge for the Big 12 if they could work a similar contract to what the Big10 held with ESPN.

I agree. I'm probably just too optimistic, but it doesn't make sense for ESPN executives to be involved if its not a new contract announcement.

I feel that ESPN would be a better outlet than a big12 network since they're in most homes and would require satellite or an extra subscription. Plus, it's a channel people are familiar with.

This is interesting.....

did ESPN fill slots that will be voided by the Big11Ten network? If so, that is a good thing for the BigXII. ESPN is in a LOT households and TV's. Sure the Big11Ten will get the media revenue right to its veins, but this is very, very good.

- keep.
