The voting page for the Cyclone Jukebox is up at the following link: http://www.cyclones.com//quest/Questionaire.dbml?QID=68668&DB_OEM_ID=10700

I suggest that we vote for the Dan McCarney era entrance song Twilight Zone by 2 Unlimited. I saw another thread that suggested Surfin' Bird, by The Trashmen, http://www.cyclonefanatic.com/forum/off-topic/66453-have-you-heard-2.html. But I really don't care what is played as long as it is not Sweet Caroline or Don't Stop Believin'. I can't imagine being a player and trying to one of those songs out of my head right before a big 3rd down!

Wow...really varying the choices. What happens when House of Pain wins this week, all 3 again next time?

For the millionth time, the players don't give a **** what's played. They're paying attention to coaches.

Plus, you actually think they count your votes? I'd bet a vast amount of money says that if we're behind, it'll be "Don't Stop Believin'" and if we're tied or ahead "Sweet Caroline".

Believe me it does suck and it embarrassing that that song is played at a football stadium!!!

And yes the players do hear the music.

That is an interesting conspiracy theory.....I demand that someone call the FBI immediately.

Not sure about that, I know I only played high school football but when I was playing there was always a song or two that could get me going. It was in my head throughout the game.

Yes they are listening to the coaches on the sideline but as play resumes I think they are still singing Bah Bah Baaah, when play resumes. Just my opinion as I don't know any current players to ask.

That's why I know. I know of 8 players because they conveniently lived next to me last year that don't care.

Additionally, normally they cut off "Sweet Caroline" and go into "Zombie Nation."

Lastly, music isn't meant for the players. Most of the time it's to get crowd involvement. Do you really think most of the players we have on the field would listen to what we listen to? If we played what they wanted, you'd all whine that you don't want to hear the stuff they warm up to (mostly rap).

I agree that the song is meant for crowd involvement, but the players still hear the song. I am not suggesting it has to be everyone's favorite song, crowd or players, but something other than a karoke hit would be nice.

Are the players you lived next to out on the field in those situations? If not I can understand why they don't care. Also,I find it hard to believe you just brought this up in a casual conversation one afternoon while passing each other in the hallway.

Please vote for surfin bird so we can all do the peter griffin dance haha

Yep. Actual players, not towel guy.

Pass by? Dude, I'm good friends with them...and some of the football team realllllly sucks at NCAA Football for being football players.
Can we finally end this debate for good and play Let the Bodies Hit the Floor?

"Bodies" - Drowning Pool

You know what I want to know, why we don't stop doing the helmet shuffle/smile cam/kiss cam, I mean that has to distract the players like no other during time outs/between quarters.

This debate is so tired. They play Sweet Caroline because it gets the crowd (okay student section and small smatterings of young alums) to do something (HEY just like Cyclone Aerobics, which would look bad *** if you would all stand up and just do it) and get into the game.

I don't care what it is but stop changing the song every week - that is no way to build tradition. Sweet Caroline may not be preferable but a lot of people take part and sing - it's silly but it is one of a very few traditions we have.

I'd rather have no tradition than be the lame school that plays Sweet Caroline at football games.
