MLB: Cubs Suspend Milton Bradley for Rest of Season

A fitting ending to an absolute horrible signing. Even worse when you look at Dunn, Abreu, and Ibanez's stats for the year.

I'm guessing he is as good as gone this offseason. The cubs will have to eat a lot money though, which sucks.

Honestly, while the guy is an idiot, I think this is yet another dumb move by Jim Hendry. First, he brings him to the team. Then, he suspends him for the rest of the season just for making negative comments to the press. Hendry is going to have a terrible time getting rid of him, but if there was ANYONE willing to take him on, you've just officially put all the burden on yourself to make it happen.

Maybe it doesn't matter, but now this becomes an even more notable news story all off-season.

It's been obvious for a while that both Bradley and Cubs fans are going to demand that he is traded in the offseason. It's been just as obvious that we're not going to get much in return. It's hard to get any real value for this headcase anyway.

It makes sense to me. If he doesn't want to be there, send him home. I just wonder why we didn't do it sooner, or if we waited until the team was fully out of it to make the move.

Who said something that was totally true...he sucks, I think he wants to be the TO of the MLB.

I love back early in the season when all my great CF/waterloo cub fans prattled on and on about how he would be the offseason pickup that would put them over the top.

I love when September rolls around.

I would have been the opposite Cub fan. Since the deal was done, I was willing to give him a chance, but I was never a fan of the Milton Bradley Experiment.

Is there any chance they can prolong this suspension to the length of his contract?

Wow -- all he did was tell the truth.

Are you really that pathetic of an individual?

Honestly - you have 227 posts on this site, and I swear a solid half of them are Cub bashing.

Then you have the audacity to complain about the Cubs threads.

Seriously - get a life. Or a hobby. Or show a bit of will power and confine yourself to Cardinals threads.

BTW Acrozier - you called out the wrong tool (see quoted).

It's got to be a lot more than half.:wideeyed:
I think I saw her post in a non-Cubs related thread once.

I'd have to look it up, but I don't remember it being the giddiest thread in the world.

Speaking of that, maybe next season is the time to set ourselves up a social group for Cub fans.

I say a drinking club, with sponsored bar...

I'll give Hendry the benefit of the doubt that he can fix this. But I'm not optimistic with all the long term, big numbered contracts - and those being the problem spots. And I think Rogue52 summed up pretty well the options, or lack of, with Bradley. We'll see if Soriano can get healthy and bounce back. If ARam can do the same. If Lee can keep producing as the elder statesman, if Fukodome can really earn that contract of his, and if Soto can get by his soph slump.

I fear this is the foreseeable future - cause I'm not sure there are many trades to be had.

He's creative, though. And the Pirates are always willing to deal..............
