Sims Kick Returning

I'm sure that I'm going to be pretty unpopular here but I don't want him returning kicks. He is our most valuable player on defense and kick returns are where players are most likely to get hurt. If Lenz can return kicks half as well as Sims I want Lenz back there. While watching the UNI vs Iowa game Saturday I was questioning the same thing as to why Sievey is returning punts for them. If he gets hurt Iowa is in some serious trouble.

Sims and LJ can be game changers returing kicks, you want them back there. Dont forget the struggles we have had returing kicks the past few years.

Sorry, but if he is making the plays against those teams. We have the same problems as last year, which from what i saw at times, might happen.

Last year the leading tackler was James Smith at Free Safety.
This year if it is Sims at Strong Safety I would consider it a small step forward.
From "Oh my god, why can't anyone within 20 yards of the line of scrimmage make a freaking tackle!"
To "Oh my god why can't anyone within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage make a freaking tackle!"

We had alot of Hawkeye friends at the game (they bought mini packs). Alot of them are pretty knowledgable fans, some even played football and they all said Sims reminded them ALOT of Bob Sanders... Thats about as good of a compliment from a Hawk fan as you can get.

I have been looking for a comparison for two weeks and you finally did it for me.

At least our coverage has not left a guy outside of the TV screen yet this year..... but OSU to come

Good and valid point.

No doubt i want them back there - in fact, the play i was expecting against Iowa was at least a fake reverse, but the threat of LJ taking a handoff and running the opposite direction to the flow is sounding sweet!!!!!!

Sims just shows how important recruiting is. Just think what would happen if we got 10 kids that Oklahoma had offered. The athletic ability of this kid is obvious, like most top recruits that go to OU, Florida, USC, etc, etc, etc.
