Sims Kick Returning

Sims looked like an Animal out there, is he a juco or fresh??? I cant recall

Sims did look very good. I thought Reynolds looked very good too. Sure he had one or two drops but he made some very nice catches.

Sims looked really nice back there returning kicks.

Lenz didn't get a lot of chances to really show a return, but he didn't do anything that made me frightened.

All in all, special teams looked more solid than the last couple of years. No spectacular, but they looked OK.

I thought that Sims clearly looked like the most talented player on the defensive side of the ball. The man was a beast tonight!

Special Teams were way above average. When was the last time we had a 50yd fieldgoal? our punting was also great!

Sims was great and had a great game, but he had a great game against the 12th best team we play this year. I really wanna see him have a great game against a KU or a Mizzou

Sorry, but if he is making the plays against those teams. We have the same problems as last year, which from what i saw at times, might happen.

We had alot of Hawkeye friends at the game (they bought mini packs). Alot of them are pretty knowledgable fans, some even played football and they all said Sims reminded them ALOT of Bob Sanders... Thats about as good of a compliment from a Hawk fan as you can get.

I'm sure that I'm going to be pretty unpopular here but I don't want him returning kicks. He is our most valuable player on defense and kick returns are where players are most likely to get hurt. If Lenz can return kicks half as well as Sims I want Lenz back there. While watching the UNI vs Iowa game Saturday I was questioning the same thing as to why Sievey is returning punts for them. If he gets hurt Iowa is in some serious trouble.

If we were an OU, or even a KU or Nebraska type team this year, I'd agree. But we are not. We win games this year if we overachieve. That means you throw the best you can out there on every play. If we lose Sims, yea, we'd probably lose more games. But if we hold back, we've already lost them anyway. Put Sims back there.
