Greetings Cyclone Fans!

Football season is right around the corner yet basketball is already on the mind.

I was hoping to inquire about your young German stud, Lucca Staiger. He was a tremendous shooting presence for you guys and will be one of the best 3pt shooters in the country next season.

I understand he's currently representing Germany in numerous Int'l Tournaments and World Cups. When is Lucca planning to arrive on Campus for school if he's busy playing Europe for several more weeks? Also, why was Lucca required to sit out and ruled ineligible for the '08 Season? Did he ever play professionally overseas or what was the reason specifically?

I'm looking forward to watching this kid develop at ISU and help win even more games in '09-'10. Any help or information regarding Lucca's past and current situation would be appreciated.

Thanks and good luck tonight vs NDSU. I'll be rooting for the Cyclones!

Lucca didn't play professionally but he played on a team with guys who were getting paid more than the maximum stipend the NCAA allows. Think guilt by association.

Not sure when he is supposed to get back, but the end of September sticks in my head for some reason.

Lucca was required to sit out in '08 because of a violation of NCAA rules. The team he had been playing on in Germany had 2 players (not him) which made enough money to be considered professionals. Since Lucca was on the team but not actually getting paid he lost a season. There were a couple other guys in the NCAA that had the same ruling, I wanna say they played for UCLA but I'm not 100% on that.

My understanding is he will be getting to campus after the rest of the team has already started practicing together, I'm not sure when that actually be. That was part of something he worked out with the coaching staff this past off season when he was wavering on whether or not to return or to go back to Germany. Sorry I don't know an exact return date.

See, the NCAA has this pole. It's a big pole, and when they asked Lucca to bend over, he just didn't know any better.. :(

Wait, why is he not going to be back til Sept? How's that work with being enrolled as an Iowa State Student?

I was going to ISU when we were on trimesters. A friend attended another college for one semester his sophomore year and missed the first three weeks of classes. He came to the first class and saw me and used my notes. Smarter guy than me, I must have taken good notes because he did better on the test than I did. Lucca could do something similar depending on the classes he is taking.

Lucca is coming back...He had the classes(missing school) worked out before he left.

I heard he was going to be late coming back(from what was originally planned), but he was coming back. Thought it was sometime in September...

and i hope so! thats just what a couple managers told me when i asked about lucca. This was about 5 days ago when i asked tho. but we need lucca to have success this season because he will free up brackins and our point guards to get into the lane and create.

Why would he have told people he was coming back and made a big deal about it if he was just going to turn around and change his mind again? Its not like Cyclone Alley hasnt been loyal to him or anything...

noone knows yet if lucca is coming back. At least thats what a couple managers for the mens team told me. they just said that we havnt heard anything from him since he left.

All you do is post garbage. The coaches where just out there visiting Lucca a couple weeks ago. He is coming back

Why don't you and FCMC actually post something with substance occasionally?

The great Lucca Staiger had four games last year where he didn't score a single point.
The three point shooting machine had 11 games where he hit one three point shot or less.
We're in big trouble if this guy doesn't come back this year.

How's that for something with substance?

I offer a challenge for you. State 1 positive thing about ISU BB currently.

im sorry i am friends with half the mangers on the bball team and they told me that noone knows if lucca is coming back or not when i asked them.
I'm HIGHLY doubting the credibility of this post considering most of your posts are worthless.

There is NO way he can win that challenge.
