The way I read it, they are not honoring him, they are just listing him as a coach. I agree that I wish he wasn't there, or not devote that much space to him - He is dead to me - but if you are going to have a panel that says "Iowa State Coaches" he does qualify

They could just paste Rhoads over him...they don't have a photo of Jim Walden there.
 
Amen, this mural does not appear to be a "list of coaches" and either way Chizik is give a place of importance that, I think we can all agree, does not deserve.

They should replace him with Rhoads because he is far more relevant to the program now than Chizik proved to be.
 
The mural will be a point of contention, I would think. It really needs to go.
 
I propose they turn it into a fundraiser....pay $50 to deface the mural of Gene Chizik in any way you see fitting.

There's a similar version of that in the FB office. It's already been revised to reflect the "changes". It's fair to assume that the version in the suites has been, too.

I don't know if he actually did coach, he sure didn't appear to be able to do much in most games last season...I guess if it was for "head of organized activity resembling football" I could understand leaving him there...or at least moving it to the men's restroom...

If Chizik was really as bad as you describe we wouldn't have offered him a 2-year contract extension at the end of last season.
 
I agree Chizik should not be there. I wonder when this mural was made. It doesn't include Walden, Criner, or Duncan.

Mack Brown, Pete Carroll, Jimmy Johnson, Jackie Sherrill, were just assistants, but I guess they were coaches here and pretty big names.

where is Joe Avezzano's picture?

Jamie could be at the top in "Touchdown Jamie" formation.
