This is my last year in Ames and I can say after a summer internship in the "real world" working for a Fortune 100 company I have really gotten a good perspective on how easy we have it.

It felt so good last night to hit all the bars and see all the friends I've been missing for the summer.

Freshmen: cherish it. NEVER LEAVE.

I know what you mean, going to school is way easier than working all damn week! I took a year off and then went to a juco while working full time and once I got to ISU I made sure that I took a couple more Financial Aid dollars so I wouldn't have to work, and it's been smooth sailing! Not looking forward to going back to the real world anytime soon...

If I had it to do all over I would have stayed and got my masters. It's so hard to even think about going back to school to get it once you start making some money and start a family.

I'm glad you have a good perscective on you're last year in Ames because so many take it for granted. Cherish it!

I'd only take advice from this guy:

Gutter is a tool! Gutter is a tool!

Oh my god... I miss college. It's great. I miss the Gerdin building, Peoples (RIP), house parties, my porch at 324 Stanton, the first warm day of the spring, the way it gets cold in the fall, the football games... I could go on forever. I love ISU and I loved my time there. It's a great ride... ride it as long as you can.

All good posts. Drink as much as possible, then drink some more. It makes no difference what day of the week it is. Drink. Party. Tailgate. Most of us would love to go through our senior year again and party harder because it all changes after that.

I know what you mean, but I don't want to have 2 senior years!

Loans are at a low rate now+economy sucking+partying-skipping classes to grill+FAC-2.0GPA+1 more year=Success

Are you saying I should improve on my GPA? or that I should get a 2.0 the last semester?

It's science...

Looks like math to me....

Yo0ur instincts are good. You are living some of the the best years of your life right now. I just went back to DSM and, with the help of my computer, put together a mini reunion of a few guys I haven't seen for mjore than 40 years, from my freshman and sohpomore years. I was reminded of the many stupid things I did and the magic of those years. Those years are great, but they are no different than the rest of the years you will experience in this respect: Make good decisions. Learn how to live life and meet your obligations at the same time. That's really the value of a college eductaion in 4 or 5 years. Me? I was a freshman in '64 and graduated in '81. (I would do a couple things differently.) I DO envy you.

My best GPAs happened during my senior year. I also think at least 1/3 of my classes those two semesters were 100-level classes. It was great.

Man, you're not kidding. Working sucks and I'm really starting to get bummed that I won't be going back to school next week.
