I don't follow the Brewers close at all. But I have a hard time believing any pitching woes lay at the feet of the pitching coach.
Their stats are pretty bad. But what's a coach to do with an absence of talent? No Sabathia, no Sheets, no Suuppan, no Bush and whomever else?
Still.. do they have any relievers they could ship to Chicago? I'm ready to take a monkey tossing a wiffle ball over Marmol right now.

As a brewers fan who watched them sit on their hands at the trade deadline, I am happy to see that they are at least doing something. Last night was just embarassing. Escobar could be very exciting and I am looking forward to see him play.
BTW, its about time they got rid of Hall, he was a bigger waste of money than Milton Bradley.

Right! We need something to hang our hats on this season. Nobody in the central has wasted more coin than the Cubs this year.

What did they have to trade? Milwaukee traded away their best prospects last year for 2 months of CC Sabathia. Melvin isn't stupid, and wasn't going to trade the farm again for a 2 month rental or a backloaded contract.
I've heard a lot of good things about Escobar as well; the Brewers really have nothing to lose by bringing him up a couple weeks early.

The Brewers won't say it but i think the main reason that hardy was sent down was to not allow him to have enough service time to be a free agent after the (2010?) season. Escobar has been highly talked about so it will be interesting to see what he does.
The Brewers have a ton of young talent in the lower levels that they could have used as leverage in a trade. Their second half schedule has been pretty nasty but there's still a lot of time for a Brew Crew comeback!
