Nike Global Challenge

Nike Global Challenge - Day 1

Nice recap from the Oregon paper on the first day's action of the Nike Global Challenge AAU event. HB led his team with 20 pts and 7 rbs, but his team lost to Senegal on a last second prayer from three with no time left.

Also, didn't realize Ejim was playing in the event with Team Canada - he has a nice highlight dunk in the video clip at the end of the article. Note of the three US teams, only one team won.

Are we still recruiting Lomomba or is he a likely Marquette committ?

The kid from Brasil had 5 blks and 7 boards. Impressive D for this style of game.

I think we're still recruiting him, but I'm not sure.

Canada lost the championship game tonight. Ejim didn't appear to be much of a factor for Canada during the tournament. Beginning to wonder if he still is at or near the top of ISU's wish list for 2010.

Canada was loaded at the three, and Melvin still got some decent minutes. and yes, we still want him. He is athletic, strong a great defender, and a great shooter (Although his shot was off this July, he was deadly for Brewster) Once he improves his ballhandling.

Harrison looks to be getting cocky. I like confident. Don't like cocky

I couldn't be less concerned about this. There's a fine line and being the #1 player in the nation will get into anybody's head. Once again, I'll take a cocky HB in a nanosecond. He's not a head-case like so many others. At least not yet.

Ehhh not so much 85. From what ive heard, the serbian team was in his face a lot, and pushing and shoving a lot just like any other team to try and get under his skin, so he was just showing them what was up. they couldnt stop him.

Not really, he's a lot stronger, and a better shooter, but not quite as great of a finisher.
IIRC, Melvin hit four threes or more in 4 different games for Brewster last year.
