Who cares about the White Sox and Twins. GO CUBS.

I'm going to hope we continue to get hits out of the bottom third of the lineup. I'm not really looking for power, I know they don't have it, just get on base and let the top of the order drive em in.

Hopefully the rest of the rotation takes a look at Swarzak and gets it together.

I haven't seen anything about Crede, anyone heard anything?

After looking closer at the standings, I didn't realize that the Sox were 7 out of the Wild Card and Twins 9 out. Those are big numbers to overcome.

There's still a third of the season to go. But I agree, there's only going to be one team coming out of the AL Central this year.

The last I heard on Crede was a cortisone shot on Friday and the earliest he could play would be tonight. Hopefully he can play at least 2 of the games as he's played well against his former team this year.

The Twins don't have power? You mean they don't have the guy leading the AL in home runs on their team (Morneau), 2 others in the top 25 (Kubel and Mauer), or 1 other in the top 30 (Cuddyer)? And as a team they're only 3 home runs away from having the 5th most in the AL, and 10 away from having the 3rd most?

Power isn't what the Twins are lacking this year - this is the most power they've had going back to the Kirby Puckett era - in fact, this might be the most power the Twins have had in my lifetime. The problem this year has been the inane amount of runs given up by the Twins in the 7th and 8th innings - in effect the Twins bullpen has not been getting leads to Nathan.

Missed that. Point still stands - power has far from been the problem this year. The problem is virtually no set-up man, and as you have stated, the black hole that exists between 7-9 in the lineup.

I think Crede is still going to be out for about 3 more games. I read that online somewhere earlier this morning. There have been quite a few rumors going around that the Twins are pushing hard for the A's Cabrera and Weintz. I'd rather have them go after the Pirates Sanchez and a reliever. Hopefully they at least do something this year. They haven't done anything with an impact since 2003 when they traded for Stewart. The startribune.com has quite a bit of information when it comes to rumors and any other Twins information if any Twins fans are looking for anything good.

Granted, I'd rather have Sanchez as well. But when you're looking at the lineup and see that when Casilla (.164), Punto (.208), and Harris (.263) are sharing 2B-SS duties, suddenly Orlando Cabrera's .278 average doesn't look nearly so bad.

Yup I agree. Although I'd argue the starters have been the bigger problem than relievers.

Guerrier looks to have settled into Nathan's setup man pretty well. I love RA Dickey and Keppel is the only aggresive pitcher on the staff. I'd be curious to see where those blowups in the 6th/7th have come from more.

Hopefully the damage to Perkins' shoulder(ego) is healed and he's ready to go tonight. I'm headed to the Dome as soon as I get out of here tonight!

Guerrier has been a heck of a setup man. Just need a second one.

The Twins could get by with their hitting the way it is if their starting pitching would be a little more consistant.

The Twins have a rediculously easy schedule the rest of the way. 63 games left. 33 home, 30 road. No games against Boston, New York or Tampa. 3 against LA, 4 against Toronto, 3 against Oakland, 3 against Baltimore, 7 against Texas. 43 Division games left. 3 home against LA and 4 on the road against Toronto scare me. 3 home against Oakland and Baltimore don't scare me. Texas, who knows.

Detroit has 3 Texas, 4 Baltimore, 4 Boston, 3 Seattle, 3 Oakland, 3 LA, 7 TB, 4 Toronto left

Sox have 7 NY, 6 LA, 5 Seattle, 5 Oakland, 3 Balt, 8 Boston.

If the Sox win it, the totally deserve it with that kind of schedule left. I'd say its down to Detroit and Minnesota and I like the Twins' chances.

Hopefully the Twins can get Cabrera.

If the Twins manager to win the division, its looking like Morneau is a shoe-in for his 2nd MVP.

Cabrera is hitting .380 in July. It would be nice to see that at the top of the lineup.

Pitching matchups are:

Danks vs. Perkins
Buehrle vs. Baker
Colon vs. Liriano
