MLB: Manny's Granny

I still hate how we crucify Bonds/A-Roid, etc. yet Manny gets played out like a hero. :skeptical:

I think Barry has much more to do with how he acted as a player to the media and such. ARod doesn't seem to take so much heat in the media anymore but he has always came across as such a polished act that this seemed really out of place for him. Finally, yes it is unfortunately looked at as just Manny being Manny, not really unexpected with all the other bat-*** crazy stuff he has done in his career. I am not trying to make excuses for it but until they just put the whole list out there of who was guilty I am not sure how baseball moves past this stain.

I struggle with Manny juicing and how I feel about it. I will say this, as some sort of rationalization... Manny didn't transform his body and start doing ungodly things he'd never done before. And he hit against pitchers that were juicing just as he did - maybe.

Who knows? Maybe he's trying to battle the impact of aging and juicing is new to him. I don't know the answer to that. But his career has been relatively consistent - he didn't change over night ala Bonds.

It's surreal...no warmup...pinch hit grand slam...on his bobblehead night...and he hits it right into the "Mannywood" section of the stands...
