So in thinking about the upcoming year I always temper my optimism with the fact that new coaches usually take a year or three to get their system in place and hit stride. This brings Colorado into my mind. Looks like their defense last year was pretty tough, but I'm curioius as to why they were SO bad last year?

Cupboard was pretty bare in Boulder. I'd think that had a lot to do with it. Add in learning a new system and developing bonds with a new staff and that spells growing pains.

They did not allow strippers and Hookers the last year of the Barnett era making it harder to recruit.

Along w/ what Fan22 said, they also had a totally green QB replace a 3 year starter in Klatt... their offense was just atrocious, so their D was on the field a lot....

For some reason I don't see the Clones bottoming out like CU did last year.... Although, people laughed at CU losing in Folsom to D-IAA Montana State last year, ISU was a missed FG away from losing to our D-IAA neighbor.....
