Keg Shop closed

Veishea 1998: The first dry Veishea and probably the lamest of all.

Keg Shop had $1.99 12 packs of Pabst Ice and Pabst Ice Light. We bought a turd load of it. It was so slow at the Keg Shop, the guy helped us two-wheel our new found friends to our house on Welch.

That was the worst beer ever. Or was it the best?

The keg shop was owned by the same person who owns peoples court and the old peoples ames. I am guessing it went out of business for the same reasons people's never opened back up. The owner is a terrible businessman who treats checks like a trampoline.

I don't know, I was at Peoples in DM last weekend and I'd say that they're doing OK. They get some really good bands in there. I'd bet with some spots opening up around campustown, we'll see Zmolek back in town soon enough.

For those who missed it, The Keg Shop IS open! It changed names to 'Campustown Liquor', but it's back open for business, and has been for a few weeks now.

Also, FYI- People's Court is doing really well. It's becoming a hotspot for touring bands to play, and getting some big acts. I mean, Girl Talk played there early this semester, and that's a show that plays in huge clubs and arenas all over the world!

I know they had no problem putting about 5 kegs of Little Kings in the back of a 1979 whale station wagon for a 19 year old back in the 1980's. Evil....but a good evil.
Keg Shop....RIP.

So that's where you went after we carded you at the Beer Baron on West Street! I was in charge of setting up the keg parties, cleaning the tappers and tubs, working the counter and sometimes beer-tending next door at Tork's.

LOL - I worked for Cecil for 12 of the longest months of my life.

Viva La Beer Baron!

Tork's Pub was awesome !!! ... the Frontier pinball machine, bowels of peanuts to throw on the floor, ice cold beer in "real"glass pitchers and the Mammy Nuns doing their Neil Young tributes was definately the way to go through ISU...(*I swear to God, Cecil never washed his greasy hair for the 5 years I daily frequented the place*):wideeyed:

Is the Keg Shop still pretty cool with not carding people all the time or is it strict now?

I always got carded at the keg shop, and I graduated 3 years ago. They've been tough on checking IDs for as long as I've known.
