MLB: Cardinals Motte

Ryan Franklin has been acting as the team's closer ever since Motte blew the save opportunity on opening day, and Franklin has only not converted one save chance since then. Motte entered a tie game last night (it was not a save op) and gave up the game-winning homer.

I am not as concerned about the Cards bullpen as I am about the offense. They average the lowest runs per game in all of MLB since May 1. It looks like we only have 2-3 major league hitters on the team right now.

Even Carpenter couldn't stop us from sucking last night.

The reason Motte is still around is he throws fire but hes young and inconsistent.... Boy havin Glaus would be nice right now.... The only ones that can even hit right now are Pujols and Stavinoha

I wouldn't count on Glaus at all. There's a lot of pressure on the front office to make a trade to acquire a better bat for 3B or the OF, but given their recent history, I wouldn't hold my breath for an acquisition. If anything it will be another dumpster dive for some guy who washed out of AAA or the Mexican League.
