MLB: Cubs Vitters

Dead link.

Let's also ask when we have two Danks in Chicago. Hit .322 in 30 games in high A, now hitting .391 in 16 games in AA.

Vitters is going to be good. Apparently Castro (SS) is pretty good too.

Just went and read the actual article. You'd have to assume 2011 would be the earliest reasonable projection for Vitters to reach the majors, with him possibly reaching AA this year, but more than likely topping out in high A (Peoria is actually low A ball).

Don't get too excited about mashing low A ball yet. If he can keep mashing up to Tennessee, however.....

You always wanna take it slow with a 19 year old.

On a side note, bleacherreport needs to get some Sox writers that don't blow. Replace Alexei Ramirez with Gordon Beckham right now? Jesus.

Holy ****, and I just read Beckham is already headed to AAA. If he replaces anyone, it'll be Fields.

I think it's possible Vitters could get called up late next year when the rosters expand if he keeps tearing up the minors. 2011 is probably more likely the earliest he'll make the majors if for no other reason than they'll want to delay his mlb experience clock for another year for contractual reasons.

He's torn up low-A ball.

He's gotta keep it up. As a Sox fan, I've seen many a guy do really well in low A to flame out.

That being said, he's doing really well there at 19. He should replace Aramis in a few years.

Yep, success in A ball, while nice, does not ensure that a player will be great. I've read that one of the key indicators is how they handle AA ball.
