Keg Tailgate Question

We're interested in having a keg at our tailgate.

We've been tailgating for years and have brought about everything but an actual keg to our tailgates. We'll be in the donor lots. Anyone have experience with how strictly they enforce the "no kegs" policy in the donor lots? I chuckled at the Tailgate Policy, because it also reads "no glass bottles" which obviously isn't enforced. We'd probably go with a 1/4 barrel so it would be relatively low profile. If anyone has any experience (good or bad) we'd appreciate your input/advice.

Thanks in advance!

New overtime rule

I apologize if this has been discussed as it isnt exactly new news, but it's the first I've seen of it.

I came across an article that they are adding a rule for overtime that will rarely be seen. Starting in the 5th overtime, instead of lining up at the 25, The teams will alternate attempting a two point conversion until one of the teams fails.

I think I like that. It's like a penalty shootout in soccer or hockey if still tied after overtime. It will be interesting to see the first time it's used how well received it is. Last year there were 2 games that went to at least 5 overtimes, so we might get to see it before the end of the season.

Police mistake bird poop for cocaine

This may be the stupidest cop thing ever. Testing bird poop on a car and saying it's cocaine. In what alternative universe does cocaine end up on the car hood of a car? Saw this a couple days ago but resisted clicking until today. Absolutely insane. Stopped for speeding, cuffed, placed in police car, and than cops go through his car, gym bag, duffle bag etc before settling on arresting him for cocaine, on his ******* car hood!

Purdy article - 5 QB's who were better than their stats

https://www.cbssports.com/college-f...-than-their-numbers-made-them-appear-in-2018/

People that said that Butler didn't drop a lot of passes need to see this:
"His completion percentage was 66.51 percent, 15.60 percent lower than his on-target rate. While Hakeem Butler was an excellent safety valve that allowed Purdy to chuck the ball up sometimes, Cyclones receivers finished the year with a drop rate of 8.7 percent. That's not good, and Butler was the biggest culprit (he had a drop rate of 15.2 percent)."

Electric guitar for a newbie.

I am thinking about making an attempt at learning to play guitar. I have decided that electric guitar would interest me the most but I have a limited budget because I am not sure how this whole thing will pan out. I have looked at a few starter kits ranging from $130-250. I looked back at a few threads here for advice but the best one was for bass guitar. Any thoughts on buying used from a place like Guitar Center or something similar? All constructive input on price, makes, models, etc is appreciated!

On That Note: By The Time We Got (Back) To Woodstock

It's another edition of "On That Note," CF’s hub for music obsession, hosted by @MeanDean, @CycloneRulzzz and cyclones500.

Next week is the 50th anniversary of Woodstock and we’re about to become knee-deep in the mud of nostalgia. (“Woodstock 50” finally imploded after months of false-starts),

To mark the occasion, post some of your favorite songs by artists that performed at “3 Days of Peace & Music.” It is not limited to songs played at the festival — it can be anything from an artist’s catalog. Iconic performances from the show are fitting, of course.

There's no limit to how many time an artist is cited, but try to use a song that hasn’t been posted already.

Lineup reference: Official lineup from Woodstock.com

If you want to post songs played at the festival, here’s a handy setlist, by performer.

My list will start in a follow-up post.

Friday OT - Would You Rather?

It's super slow around here, and I'm low on ideas, so I'm throwing crap against the wall in hopes it sticks!

Let's play a game of "Would You Rather?" - you can either answer someone else's question they posed, or post a situation of your own for others to answer. Basic premise, just give a two-choice situation for others to answer.

Some starters:

- Would you rather have a summer cold or a winter stomach bug?
- Would you rather have front-row 50-yard-line season tickets for football, or courtside at half court for basketball?
- Would you rather fight a wild animal or your significant other when they are hangry?

OTN 7/30/19 Everybody's Talkin' At Me

OTN Everybody's Talkin' At Me

Hello and welcome to another weekly edition of On That Note. We do this as a team, myself and @cyclones500 and @CycloneRulzzz.

The last few weeks we've looked back at best/favorite LPs from decades ending in '9'. The most recent one is here:

https://cyclonefanatic.com/forum/threads/on-that-note-to-the-9%E2%80%99s-part-4-1999.249145/

This week we're going in a more traditional and/or random direction.

This idea occurred to me on July 4th. I was in a public place and at the event there was a lot of music variety. Among the songs that I heard that day was Sweet Home Alabama. And as we all know it opens with the guitar lick then one of the band members says, prior to the start of actual singing, "Turn It Up."

Which got me thinking... Hmmm, what OTHER songs begin with spoken words before the actual singing?

I initially couldn't think of too many, but presented the idea to 500 and Rulzzz and they both like it so we bounced it around a while and came up with a couple dozen or so eventually. We also discussed the parameters/rules.
  1. Track has to be a song. Not a spoken word recording like Americans by Gordon Sinclair or We Love You Call Collect by Art Linkletter.
  2. The spoken part has to be before the first singing, but not necessarily before the first instruments/music.
  3. Count-ins DO NOT COUNT, so no I Saw Her Standing There or Taxman.
  4. Live versions with spoken intros by band members or by Masters of Ceremony (MC) are also to be excluded.
So here are my first 5 to kick it off:

My last one, technically, doesn't meet the rules we set, but it was the first one I thought of after hearing the Lynyrd Skynyrd song. I believe the girls are singing the opening two words in this one but I've always just been so amused by this. I just try to imagine the recording session. "Okay girls this song is called, Love Child. First before the song really starts we'll have Mary and Cindy sing "Tenement Slum." Yeah, that's right, just once at the beginning."
