Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Dropped my wife off at Des Moines International this morning for a trip to New York to bring our daughter back for college. The flight to Chicago with a layover was cancelled an hour and a half before takeoff. (bad weather in Chicago) They had a flight to Charlotte to New York, so she got on this. Charlotte is a cluster #### and flights to New York are cancelled for tonight. She can get on a flight to Columbus at midnight and maybe get to New York by noon. I told her she might as well get on AmTrak and be there by 9. From Omaha to Newark was a direct flight, and only 4 hours.

Kickoffs this year

Do we know if Conner Assalley is going to be doing kickoffs this year or will it be Narveson? I know Conner has said his leg is stronger this year, but he didn't have an overly strong leg last year it seemed. It was nice to have Chris Francis last year who had a strong leg and could put it deep or through the endzone on kickoffs. Does this concern anyone else other than me?

Iowa State Fair 2019

Hello!

Sorry if this has been covered ad nauseum

~ I've mostly lived in Iowa my whole life (even born in D.M.) I have NEVER been to the Iowa State Fair

We're going Sat Aug 17.

I perused the website, and trying to cram many things in one day as we can

Any advice, recommendations, parking?, shuttles??

We're open w/ livestock viewing, the midway, exhibits, others stuff. I'm fairly clueless as to any 'must-see'
things

Thanks in advance!

How quickly Baylor forgets...

while I don’t find much fault with the article, the rationale that Baylor's loss of Brewer was the only thing affecting last year's outcome is narrow at best. Even the comments section illustrates their lack of big picture awareness. Somehow our loss of Montgomery and his potential impact on the game gets overlooked to help them feel better about themselves. Will this be a close game...more than likely.

Scheduling Control

I was wondering if ISU has some ability to control it's scheduling in terms of bye weeks. I only ask because I think it stinks that we have a bye week after only one game. I also remember there only being 1 bye a year, and now there are 2. I like the conference bye, but I hate the bye being after the first game. If I were a player, I would really like to get back on the field ASAP to correct mistakes.
