How many completely wrong calls did they have today? 3-4, even after review. UNI must have had 20 bad holding calls that did not get called, and at least 4 of those were headlocks around the defender. Simple inexcusable.
I didn't really see this in a thread so thought I'd post. Mods if it needs moved to another location please do so.
I'm not really Nostradamus, but...I did nail Iowa and Iowa State this weekend.
2-0
Northern Iowa + 23 (No way in any universe is ISU going to beat UNI by that much...ever. I've seen way too many of these games. I should have bet the house on this. That being said I didn't see it THAT close)
Since handicapped parking is limited and it would be too long of a day for my 88 year old mother to get there at 7:00 AM. I would like to get a paved reserved parking spot. I am open to location, I don't mind pushing wheel chair on pavement. We normally take her to the step show to see her grandson and then use South entrance to use elevator. Handicapped was sent to S6 last week and we got a spot, but after that they said others would be sent to G7.
Did we all miss this? I did and I couldn't find it on the CF boards anywhere.
Cam Lard has a 1-year deal in Turkey. I am going to try to find out more about this club to see if it's in Turkey's top flight because that is a good league (the USA's team needed a lot of luck to beat Turkey at the World Cup this week). There isn't a lot of English coverage of the league though so I will see what I can learn about them.
I am not sure what itconsists of yet and I haven't heard any talk about it on here... but as I was browsing Hulu for some background noise I found 'The Matt Campbell Show' under NBC Sports Chicago.
A quick google yields the following airtimes but nothing else-
Nothing on Cyclone Fanatic that I have found about this. There are whole towns that were under water at one time the water levels were 12' deep on homes that were built above the known flood plain. I you are the kind of person who likes to help out in these situations just pick a town along I 29 south of Council Bluffs google it and with very little research will get you linked up to a place you can donate. Glenwood, Percival, Bartlett, Hamburg, Pacific Junction and others. Sparsely populated, but if you couldnt farm your ground for a year, what would you do? I have a friend who lost everything. Grain bin sites that have never seen flood waters were ruined. Fields several feet deep in sand. It is hard to imagine. If someone has a link they want to share for contributions go ahead and post here. I just dont want to show any favoritism to any organization or town.
So, I just received the email that at my donation level I get a pair of general admission season tickets to wrestling, volleyball, and gymnastics. It is unlikely I will make it to many of these events if any. It's a pretty long drive for me to get to ames.
I believe junior cyclone club also has access to these, maybe?
So, if parents/family members of these kids need a couple tickets to get in the door i could help there.
If there is anyone that may want the pair for any specific event shoot me a message and I will see what I can do. Most of the tickets I could probably send for free.
The volleyball games the day before or after a football game are the ones I am more likely to attend. Also weekend wrestling meets I am more likely to attend.
Here's the 15 yd penalty called on Johnnie Lang that killed our first drive Saturday. You tell me if this is a good call or not? I know there's a new rule this year, but if this is now considered a 15 yd penalty, then it's no longer football IMO. This is the definition of a perfect block. Shoulder right to the chest. Some say it was blindsided, but how? And don't tell me that the UNI defender wasn't in the play and couldn't have made the tackle.

I watched it and I have some thoughts.
***Note: I will be critical of some players. That doesn’t mean I’m hating on them or want them to suck and be benched. I root for everyone***
1. Pro: We didn’t play as poorly as my emotions indicated. We seemed to be have a nice rhythm most drives.
2. Con: O-Line Play. I’m going to lump TE’s in this as well. JGJ and Meeker were abysmal. Some of the pass-rushing defenders were already at their hip before they started to move. JGJ got worked regularly through out the game; Meeker’s misses were less frequent but they were big whiffs. Fortunately, some of the misses were missed assignments which hopefully will be cleaned up in the bye.
For TE’s, I missed Seonbuchner. Soenher was very underwhelming. There a few significant plays where Soehner and Kolar get WORKED while blocking.
The guards and Newell held their own for most of it.
Pro: Skill players are solid. Apart from a few drops, receiver some were making plays and blocking sufficiently. Running backs worked with what they could.
Con: Play-Calling in critical moments. For most of the game, it was solid. Sure, I wanted to see Purdy sling the ball down the field more, but we were moving the ball fine. But when I came down to converting 3rd and 4th downs, yikes. I think they tried to be cute, but it didn’t work against such a disciplined team.
Pro: Defense. They got the job done.
Con: Secondary holes. Justin Bickham struggled. He was out of position for quite a few plays and missed open field tackles. Azunna came in and missed some tackles, too.
Final thought: I think we will be ok. This team is talented and we have two weeks to tighten things up. We are 1-0.
On occasion when I use CF on my phone I will get a pop up that claims I am the winner of some prize. This doesn’t happen when I visit other sites or apps
Last night's game was mostly good....players who made marks included Ty Summers, Darrius Shepherd, and Ka'Dar Hollman. I thought Kizer and Boyle both played OK, Kizer is just too inconsistent from one play to the next.
J'Mon Moore missed his chance to solidify a roster spot....seems like he juggles or drops everything thrown his way.
Will be good next week to see Za'Darius Smith and Rashan Gary lining up together (hopefully). Word from camp is both of them are wreaking havoc on the offense. Maybe we will have a defense we can actually depend on for a change.
No deep balls. I don't care if Butler is not here you can go long. I think there was one pass of about 20 yards but it was horrible, wobbly and wildy inaccurate. Reminded me of a Paul Rhoads coached QB.
Rewatch the game and look at most of Purdy's throws. His motion looked awful, seemed pretty different from last year.
No carries for Purdy. He had 2 'carries' but they were actually sacked for those. The Purdy TD that was called back, he was EXTREMELY hesitant to run on that play, almost scared.
I have parking passes for sale for the UNI game. Prices listed below obo. I'm in Ankeny and can meet around here anytime today, tonight or early tomorrow. Or in Ames early tomorrow.
Have already listened to the album a few times since it dropped at midnight. This is the modern day Dark Side of the Moon. If this is their last offering, what a way to go out.
well I just got word this has opened up for Iowa and will be active by the time football games start. So you can set up accounts now. They even have college football daily contests. I used this link and got $10 for just signing up and making first deposit. Looks like a nice fun site. https://www.fanduel.com/?invitedby=...um=Web&utm_source=My Account&utm_content=Link
