Looking for a parking pass in any lot for the Iowa/Iowa St game this weekend.

So as the result of my wife getting loaded at our son's baseball game a couple weeks back while sitting next to a realtor I may be putting an offer in on a house in a few days. The house in question is being listed for just a bit under $400k but it was originally listed for $470k and that was just shy of 700 days ago so it's been sitting on the market a while. The zillow estimate is $382k but it's been a while since we bought our last house and I'm wondering what the rule thumb is if there even is one for making an offer on a house these days.

Who owns the Kmart lot? With the added traffic/parking this weekend they should open up that lot instead of towing. $20-$30 a spot. Would make a killing.

My crew is wondering if we will spend our time at our tailgate setup in the C4 lot or the crowd around the ESPN set. It makes some difference on our plans, to include tailgate TV setup. Normally we use an OTA antenna and watch whatever game is on broadcast, but in this case we will want to watch ESPN Gameday if we are at our tailgate spot.

I’ve read that the ESPN set will be between Scheman and Hilton. Do you think on one of the elevated platforms? That would provide an amazing view of the backdrop of all the north lots, the back of the scoreboard and the stadium.

I’m just curious how all your tailgate plans are adjusting based on ESPN Gameday.

I got a surprise e-mail this morning from my property manager. I currently have a single-family (2 bed, 1 bath newly renovated) house in Kansas City, MO (Waldo neighborhood) that I am currently renting. My property manager, who is also a realtor, e-mailed me this morning interested in buying the house from me.

I want to grow my rental business and I have been looking for ways to extract the equity I have built in this house. I have been having a problem with banks extending financial lending to me in order to grow my rental business in the form of a cash-out refinance or in a HELOC. The reason being is because I am using the property as a rental.

I originally planned on selling the house when the current tenant's lease is up in April, so this would expedite that process. However, what I need help for in the Cyclone community are the following: Real Estate Attorney, Appraiser (I want to have the house appraised myself), a bank experienced in closing and a 1031 exchange. I want to try and sell the property without using a real esate agent to save on the fees since I already have a buyer. Please let me know of some people who you have used in Kansas City.

Marc Morehouse of the Cedar Rapids Gazette apparently thinks the B1G should ditch their divisions, and copy the Big XII system of just putting the two best-performing teams in the conference championship at the end of the season.

He also firmly believes the conference needs to get rid of that pesky requirement of 9 conference games ... because, I guess, how can you impress the Playoff Committee by struggling against Rutgers when you could just stomp Indiana State for that easy W instead. Hey, it’s the SEC way!

Frankly, the B1G got itself into this position by expanding to 14. Nobody held a gun to their head, they did it to themselves. Watering down your conference by requiring fewer conference games seems like a dumb idea - and the notion of a 14-team conference without divisions? Can you imagine how they’ll pack the stands in Champaign or Bloomington for that key November battle for 12th place?

Look, you have more than 10 members, I think you gotta have divisions. Sure, the balance of power between divisions might screw over somebody some year, but you still should end up with the best team winning that championship game. And everybody needs more conference games, not fewer - copying the SEC model isn’t a way to impress the committee.
