3 lower bowl (section 16 row 16 seats 1,2 & 3) and C1/C2 Parking Pass for $350 OBO. Unfortunately can’t make the game and will be in KC for my girls soccer. Go Cyclones!
I was a huge Cheers fan and a moderate Frasier fan. Has anyone checked out the Frasier reboot? I have not. Seems to be one where there is a wide gap in opinions between critics and viewers.
This is crazy. Guy in Atlanta takes a woman out on first date. She orders and slurps 48 raw oysters while recording herself (along with other food/drinks). He ordered one drink. He slipped to the bathroom and never went back. $184 bill.
I’ve been looking at the video of Stevo Klotz’s TD yesterday, and I couldn’t help but think about how much it’s an example of how far the program has come under CMC.
In the meltdown weeks, some genius was whining about “Where are all of those great recruiting classes?” I’m not sure if they were…misinformed…enough to think that a “great” recruiting class for ISU is the same as a great recruiting class for the likes of tOSU or Bama—or if they were just totally blind to the young talent on the field right in front of their noses.
The simple fact is, the talent level on this program is improving. It may be more incremental than most of us would prefer, but it’s there.
And that includes the simple fact that many of our walkons are now better than our scholarship players used to be. Yes, I say that in response to that (ahem) clever person who was complaining about a walkon seeing red when Malik Verdon was out.
Stevo is just one example. I mean, I like and respect the heck out of Sam Seonbuchner. He worked his tail off, and was a key lynchpin in the turnaround of this program.
Not to throw Sam under the bus, but…there’s no way he was athletic enough to make this play. Not to mention that 6’3” 244 doesn’t match up to 6’4” 260.

And redshirt sophomore DE Trent Jones II and true freshman S Drew Surges are just two more examples.
Pardon me for not detailing the advances among scholarship players here. Maybe a Part 2 coming—that has little to do with “rankings”.
Having been a fan since the days of Donnie Duncan (student), Jim Criner and Jim Walden, I love where this program is at!
So you have Chris Babb and Nick Weiler-Babb. Brothers. Both played at Iowa State. But who was more valuable for their team at Iowa State? Pretty equal numbers. Who would you take again?
Senior Year:
Chris Babb (2012-2013): Started all 33 games he competed in, averaging 9.1 points and 3.4 rebounds...one of the Big 12’s top defenders, earning Big 12 All-Defense honors...second on the team in steals, averaging 1.1 spg...was third on the team in 3-pointers with 65, tying for 14th on ISU’s single-season chart
Nick Weiler-Babb (2018-2019): Started all 35 games ... averaged 9.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.3 steals, making him only player in Big 12 to reach each of those benchmarks ... was second in the league in assists and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.5)
Beginning of the end? Definitely not an overreaction and is a legitimate question at this point. Question is do you want coach gone, not will he be gone.
It's been a hell of a year... 3 strokes, a heart attack, a suicide attempt, etc so naturally my mind goes to the dark side at times. That got me thinking... if you could put anything you wanted on your Tombstone, what would it be/say?
Naturally it's going to be in my will that it must say "**** Iowa", probably would have the Masonic compass design, and something about my family (TBD depending on if they still like me at that point in time). The original CF logo would be cool, but maybe a bit cheesy?
Crazy week last week. 90% of the field was either eliminated or given the scare of a lifetime. 37 people eliminated 43 people remain.
Tiebreaker points return this year. A reminder regarding tiebreaker points: If your team wins and covers you gain an extra bonus point. If you take a undefeated team who is the underdog you gain the point for them covering plus another bonus point. As the season goes on the number of teams undefeated being a underdog greatly diminish so take advantage while you can.
I will be using ESPN's Lines. Line will be the line at kickoff for tiebreaker points
Rules/How to Play if you are new:
You can only pick teams that are undefeated (they will be bolded).
Pick a team you think will win that weeks game. Pick only 1 team per week.
Don't pm me the pick, post on here your pick.
You can only pick that team ONCE the entire time you are in the game.
The goal is to advance and be the last person standing.
Only games that have a FBS school facing another FBS school are eligible to be picked.
You have up until the start time of the game you picked to switch.
If your team loses, you are out for the competition.
If you skip a week of picks, you are out.
You can switch as many times up until the game you have picked officially starts.
If you have questions, pm me
Post 2 of the thread will have the possible games you can pick.
Post 3 will have each player and their previous week's picks.
You can't join in during the middle of the season.
Please include prior weeks picks with your pick for the week.
So my brother & I are Miami Dolphins fans and will be in Miami 10/29 for Miami vs New England. We are pumped for the Sunday nfl game but are looking for suggestions for a possible cyclone bar in the Miami area to watch our cyclones take on Baylor on Saturday. Any and all suggestions are welcome, thanks!
Let's have some fun and post some goofball .gifs to celebrate our bye week victory.
I tell you one thing. I hate 11:00 am kickoffs at home, but love them on the road. Crowd just waking up and if we win, whole remainder of the day to cheerfully get stuff done. Hopefully Baylor will be 11:00 am also, and then a night game for KU.
They might as well tell us Metric isn't really our future at this point...
Conventional wisdom about coin flips may have been turned on its head. A global team of researchers investigating the statistical and physical nuances of coin tosses worldwide concluded (via Phys.org) that a coin is 50.8% likely to land on the same side it started on, altering one of society’s most traditional assumptions about random decision-making that dates back at least to the Roman Empire.
The team appeared to validate a smaller-scale 2007 study by Stanford mathematician Persi Diaconis, which suggested a slight bias (about 51 percent) toward the side it started on. The authors of the new paper conducted 350,757 flips, using different coins from 46 global currencies to eliminate a heads-tail bias between coin designs. (They also used a variety of people to rule out individuals with biased flipping techniques corrupting the results.) Regardless of the coin type, the same-side outcome could be predicted at 0.508, which rounds up perfectly to Diaconis’ “about 51 percent” prediction from 16 years ago.
Anyone know if the staff is looking at Dowling Catholic’s kicker? Kid has a strong leg. Seems to be automatic from 40 or less. Just missed a 51 yarder last night with plenty of leg.

top-to-bottom review is ongoing. Hopefully Myers is a matter of time
Hopefully we hear good news in the coming hours... Would LOVE to get a a new offensive system in place SOON!
The portal is exploding and we should be aggressive while teams are in bowl/playoff prep. Landing key contributors before the spring semester would be a massive step towards 2023 improvement.

What are some cool venues/places you’ve seen a concert?
Most of mine have been around here, but the McMenemen’s Edgefield outdoor venue in Portland, OR was a lot of fun this summer. Very chill, lots of pine trees around, etc.
Anyone know if this game is on TV or streamed tonight? If so, what channel? Last time they were on 13 YTTV I believe, however, I don't see the game listed on the menu?
i think Lipsey Gilbert Omaha are locks with King or Jones at C
5th spot is what's tough it could be Pav or Milan or Watson, i think one of those 3.
i went with Pav cause he's proven scorer in D1 and i think we can use all the shooting we can get.
i don't see the freshman outside of Omaha and Milan contributing much this year, with 5 solid rotation guys returning and a few transfers who proved it already at D1 level, guys like Hamilton Fish Rock would have to really outperform expectations to crack rotation this year. but it's possible for sure. also injuries and guys leaving happens. so never know.
