Higgins calls Big 12 most difficult league in the country to officiate

Guessing there won't be anybody shocked by what Hollywood had to say about the Big 12 on Monday.

Westbrick

Maybe he should worry about playing better and earning that $44,000,0000

I was surprised not to see this Zoom conference already linked.

Two minor nuggets? ‘21 OL had lots of injuries, and Darien Porter is doing well at corner.

Riot/Brawl in Mexican Soccer Game

I went back and forth on starting this thread, but figured I should since there are enough soccer fans here at CF.

As if the world wasn’t already messed up enough as is, there was a huge brawl between the opposing fans this Saturday in a match between Querétaro and Atlas (Mexican league). Official reports are saying 20 something people injured and a handful in critical condition. On social media there are rumors of double digit deaths as a result of this atrocity. After watching some of the videos, I’d be surprised if there are no casualties.

Hope the Mexican federation and FIFA give out some serious punishment to the clubs, especially the home team. Needless to say, but also hope the local authorities arrest as many of the people involved as possible.

WBB: Big 12 Player Awards

With awards coming out this week thought we could have thread on it. I'm not a huge awards tracker and don't freak if we don't get some but this year we have more notable candidates than usual.

Pre-season picks had Joens and Donarski as All-Big 12 and Ryan Honorable Mention. Post-season has 1st team (10 players), 2nd Team (five players) and Honorable Mention. Joens is going to be a unanimous pick but Ryan is a lock also (11th in scoring and 1st in assists by a mile). So, probably all three in on first team. Don't think Cyclones have a 2nd team candidate and just not sure about Honorable mention. Aubrey Joens looked like she had a shot fo that half way through he season but didn't sustain that play.

POY is likely Baylor's Smith. Shame to have three players averaging almost a double/double (Smith and Lee did and Joens almost did). Smith/Lee/Joens all 1-2-3 in scoring and rebounding. Shame to have to pick one and pass over the other two but Smith gets the nod. Smith was the pre-season pick and answered the bell expectation-wise.

COY will be interesting. It's between Fennelly and Jenny B. Collen won the conference but she was picked to do that so did what she was supposed to do and I think that bumps her out along with the "it was Mulkey's team". Considering other coaches success in conference bumping Collen is 100% justifiable. Sort of a dead heat between Fennelly and Barancyk. Both finished where they were picked. Barancyk did do more with Sherri's players than Sherri's did so she has that going but that seems to have been predicted in the preseason poll. Voted by coaches and not so sure our coaches is loved by some of them. No feel for how hey feel about newcomer Jenny. Not sure "nominated but not won before" like movie awards plays into coaches thinking on voting, maybe but lots of newer coaches in the league. Grabbing a piece of the title would have iced it for either one of them.

Season Ticket Renewal Question

Last year was my first year buying season tickets so I will be renewing for the first time this year. I just looked at my invoice and I noticed there are two options, one is to renew just the donation at this time, the other is to renew both the donation and season ticket purchase at this time. I have a couple questions about this that someone may be able to answer.

1: If I select the option to renew just the donation right now, will I still get the email to login and purchase priority tickets as I would have last year or am I basically saying I don't want season tickets by selecting this option?

2: Regarding the option to renew both the donation and season tickets, I noticed my specific seats from last year are listed on this option. If I select this option am I locking myself into these seats again for next year or will I still have the option to login once tickets are on sale to look for new seats?

Thanks in advance for your help!

David Carr's impact

All the coaches spoke about Carr's accomplishments but most importantly highlighted just how much he cares about his team. The way he's become almost an extra coach in the room.

Enjoy!

MFF

The howks just ducked two matches in the finals of the Big10s. The big10 can’t be happy about this. 8 of the 10 matches took place but their biggest star didn’t get to wrestle. Is the NCAA their own worst enemy on this? Currently there are no repercussions for MFFs leading into nationals. 4 of Iowas 10 guys forfeited out of the tournament. Is it time the seeding committee takes a stand? Do they have power to make it happen without first having structured rules around it? What a terrible black eye for the sport. Funny thing is, the guy heading this is the tough guy always pointing and yelling and flexing. Desperation at its finest, trying anything possible to beat penn state at nationals.
