BUENOS AIRES, Argentina – Iowa State women’s basketball junior Bridget Carleton and Canada Basketball claimed the Gold medal on Sunday night in a thrilling 67-65 win over Argentina in the 2017 FIBA AmeriCup in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Carleton, who competed for Canada in five of six games, tallied three points, seven rebounds, four assists, one steal and a block during the tournament.

Carleton spent the summer competing for a spot on Canada’s Senior Women’s National Team. Her FIBA AmeriCup berth marked her first time appearing on the national team roster in an official FIBA competition. Carleton was an alternate on last year’s Olympic roster for Canada.
