I know that TCU (9-9, 1-5) isn’t very good, but neither was Texas Tech last year when the Cyclones laid an egg.

Like it or not, this Iowa State basketball team has proven to us time and time again that it is capable of losing to anybody outside the friendly confines of Hilton Coliseum.

Saturday’s trip in Fort Worth (Iowa State is a 9-point favorite) is the definition of a trap game.

Iowa State, who struggled early in conference play, has rattled off two impressive wins in a row, including Monday night’s emotional triumph over the No 1 ranked team in America.

This upcoming Monday will be another “Big” Monday featuring the always anticipated home duel with Kansas – a game I might add that students have been camping out for since the conclusion of the Oklahoma game.

But before then, there is work that still needs to be done – a road trip to the worst atmosphere in the Big 12 against the most boring basketball team in the Big 12.

What TCU lacks in talent, the Horned Frogs make up for with effort. That’s really the only explanation that there is for this team beating Texas on Jan. 9 and only losing by seven at Kansas six days ago.

However with all due respect to TCU (I love Trent Johnson by the way), this game is all about Iowa State.

If the boys show up focused and ready to go, Iowa State will enter Monday on a three game winning streak.

But as we’ve learned with this team in the past, they simply cannot be trusted.

But the past is in the past.

It’s never too late to change your ways.

Have the Cyclones changed theirs?

Stay tuned.

The Kansas game will get more publicity, but I feel like a strong argument can be made that the TCU game is equally as important.
