Rivals.com and the Des Moines Register are reporting that Paul Rhoads picked up a 2011 commitment on Saturday.

Jevohn Miller, a 6-foot-2, 225-pound linebacker out of Brooklyn, Iowa was on campus Friday night. On Saturday, he pledged to be a Cyclone.

According to CycloneReport.com’s football recruiting database, Miller is the second prospect that has committed to Iowa State in the class of 2011. He joins another Iowa prospect, Brock Dagel, a 6-foot-7, 245-pound offensive lineman out of Cherokee.

Chris’ Take: Recruiting has to be a million times easier for Paul Rhoads this week compared to last. Had Iowa State not received their good conference realignment news earlier in the week, recruiting was only going to get more and more difficult. Read that Register story that I linked up above. Miller admitted to Randy Peterson that he had kept a close eye on the situation.

To write that I know a lot about Miller’s game would be a lie. He’s a small town Iowa kid who is fairly unknown on a national scale. That’s not a bad thing though in my opinion. I love the fact that the staff already has two home-grown prospects committed on June 20. That is called building the foundation for a growing program.
