your nfl team

Thought the same when we picked Dermotti Dawson and that turned out pretty well. With the Steelers, you just have to trust their personnel department. They have been correct more time than incorrect. We had a couple young DBs last year that were hurt, & Wallace produced earlier & better than anticipated, so I think OL was the way to go. Someone had to be blocking well for Tebow - maybe it was his line that made him look so good.

Yeah Pouncey will help the running game a lot I think. They will need to run the ball with Ben out for 4-6 games.
Apparently the plan is to start him out a OG until Hartwig retires and then slide him right in. The more I hear about the guy the better I feel. He is being touted as a future Probowl center which can't ever hurt. He might not make any highlights, but he should help the team.
Watched a video where they talked about the Steelers first rounders for the last 10 years. All of them ended up being starters (except Hood in 09 who isn't starting yet) and most of them contributed to the Super Bowl wins.

We'll see where they go in the second round. They have extra picks so maybe they can move up in the later rounds and get some more eventual starters.

Yeah both of Denvers picks will be disected in the future.
If Dez ends up havign a better career than Thomas they will get ripped for it.
Tebow is a high risk pick, but I think he will do everything in his power to get it done. If he fails, it wont be for lack of effort. My wife is a big Broncos fan and she jumped up and down when they picked Tebow. He will give you 100% every day and that is a lot more than some of the other first round talents will do. He also probably wont have any rape allegations thrown at him (Stupid Roethlisberger!) which is a big plus.

I would have been livid if my Cowboys had picked Tebag even at the end of the first round. I think there are plenty of players who could have been picked in the first round with first round talent and developed skills now, no baggage and have demonstrated a work ethic. (Of course after passing on Randy Moss years ago because of off the field issues, Jerry wasn't going to let a few issues stop him again.)

When I hear Tebow talk, I just feel like someone is trying to sell me some swamp land. I hate to be negative, but that is what my gut tells me.

Love that you love your pick, and it was a very good one for the Pack. Aaron Rodgers is going to be the next star QB of the NFL, if they can keep him healthy long enough. Bulaga is a step in that direction.

While it's fun to hate all things Hawkeye, I think it's important to make a distinction once you make it to the NFL. What cokkege you played for us simply no longer relevant and thode that hate NFL players based on that are absolutely petty.

When you grow up in Hawgeye country and the dbag Hawk fans around you constantly use Hawkeye players' success in the NFL as another way to torment you and make fun of your team, it gets really old. It would even make Mother Theresa hope for the UofI draftees to fail in the NFL.

It may be petty, but you get to the point of hoping for ZERO success from anyone who played a down for the Hawgeyes. Just so the classless fans might shut up for one day.

End Rant - were is my wubbie?!

I liked what the Dolphins did. Picked up a few extra picks and got a very good player.

There are quite a few more Dolphins fans on here than what I expected.

I would've liked to see them get Earl Thomas or Derrick Morgan at the 12 spot but I'm fine with them trading down to get a few more picks.

I'm hoping they can grab Taylor Mays or Sergio Kindle at the 40th pick tonight.... that would be phenomenal.

I don't know that I'd call it petty. Can you honestly argue that iowa getting players drafted and former iowa players doing well in the pros is GOOD for ISU FB? Because I can make an argument against it. Not only are these former players making tons of money that they may donate, they are also getting a lot of notoriety and exposure. That helps sell recruits in-state and it helps with name recognition for out of state recruits. Those recruits may not know who Kirk Ferentz is or where Iowa City is, but they sure the heck know who Bob Sanders is.

I don't watch games to specifically root against former hoks, but if I see one while watching, I hope that he screws up. And when I see one of their names on the list of players getting cut, it always brings a smile to my face. Not a "make my day" smile, but similar to seeing that the iowa baseball team or WBB team lost or finding a dollar bill in my coat pocket.

For the OP...Rams. Happy with Bradford even though I would have preferred trading down for a ton of draft picks. They have to get him some help now. I think that Cleveland and Buffalo are going to be fighting to trade up ahead of the Vikings. So the Rams should get some more picks there.

How is that Iowa's problem? It's not their job to worry about how the success of Iowa grads in the NFL affects ISU, it's their job to win football games. Is it their fault they recruit better than ISU? No matter your opinion on Hayden Fry, Iowa's worked hard over the last 3 decades to establish those recruiting lines. Iowa's had 2 coaches in that time span. We've had what - 5? 6? 7? 8? Once again - not Iowa's fault we don't take care of our own business. And if you're tired of the way Iowa fans treat ISU fans, well, there was a nice stretch between 1998-2002 and again in 2005 and 2007 where we treated them exactly the same way, if not worse. It's kinds hypocritical to get pissy about the way they treat us when we pull the same **** on them.

Look, I hate Iowa as much as the next ISU fan, but to hate Iowa's NFL players simply because of the success they had at Iowa screams jealousy and pettiness.

I'm not much of an NFL guy, but I am a big ND guy. My Fightin Irish guys are gettin absolutely **** on this year!

Chargers swung for the fences and got a very good running back. Their running game, and offense, will be much better this year because of it. I'm a little worried they overpaid and will not come out with the nose-tackle they needed in the second round, but the defense did win 13 games last year with their rotation of young guys in the middle. Hopefully they have improved with a year under their belts. I guess thye still have pieces to trade to try to get back into the second round.

Chiefs - Like the the pick of Berry at DB. He is a all around athlete that will help the defense. I just looked at SI's Mock Draft of round 2 and they have the Chiefs taking Golden Tate out of Notre Dame. IMO that would be another playmaker just on the other side of the ball. He could give a lot of options for Cassell.
