The first rankings have come out for the season, it doesn't look like Intermat and WIN Magazine have updated their rankings yet but Flo has so I'll use their rankings for this initial post.

125: Kysen Terukina #17 (up 2 from 19)
133: Evan Frost #20 (up 1 from 21)
141: Jacob Frost #22 (up 1 from 23)
149: Casey Swiderski #13 (up 1 from 14)
157: No one ranked
165: David Carr #2 (no change)
174: MJ Gaitan #30 (up 3 from 33)
184: Will Feldkamp #5 (no change)
197: Julien Broderson #25 (no change)
Hwt: Yonger Bastida #6 (up 3 from 9)
Team Tournament: 10 (up 1 from 11)

Intermat has updated their rankings

Couple things of note. I like where Younger sits. They dropped Kraisser after GV Open. They are sticking with Casey over Ech when that typically isn’t how flo does their rankings

Feels like they are anticipating CS at 149 and AE at 141.
I know I’m saying flo is usually very systematic in that whoever is wrestling is usually the one they rank unless it’s like a RBY sitting out type thing. Ech beat Casey in wrestle offs though and they don’t normally take that approach to keep guys in the rankings

You guys are missing the point I’m trying to make. Flo doesn’t usually rank on feelings. Everyone feels like Vito should still be 1 and is going to win it but that’s not on rankings work. And why not have Ech ranked at 141 then why is he left out?

If/when this happens would Jacob cut to 133 to challenge his brother? I saw (here) it was decided by coin flip who would cut to 133 originally. If he did any thoughts on who would win out?

I don't think Flo is still ranking Kraisser. They took him completely out, and I don't think he'd fall 20 spots from this weekend. They're ranking Chittum based off his one D1 win against Davidson, which doesn't get him into the top 33. Same with PSU's Mesenbrink at 165.

Not that rankings ever really mean too much, but they mean even less with our team this year with the weight changes and new starters. Wisconsin doesn't offer many opportunities to rise (basically just Terukina and Gaitan), so I guess they'll just need to win against Iowa to move up, which is perfectly fine with me.

Looking ahead, Vegas at 157 will give Chittum plenty of opportunity to rise in the rankings. What an absolutely loaded weight class at that tournament.

Flo just dropped their updated rankings and here they are:

125: Kysen Terukina #10 (up 7)
133: Evan Frost #20 (no change)
141: Anthony Echemendia #30
149: Casey Swiderski #13 (up 1)
157: Cody Chittum NR
165: David Carr #2 (no change)
174: MJ Gaitan #29 (no change)
184: Will Feldkamp #6 (down 1)
197: Julien Broderson #24 (up 1)
HWT: Yonger Bastida #6 (no change)
