The Harold Nichols open starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Lied Recreation Center in Ames. Here are the teams that are going to be represented in some fashion:
Iowa State, Northern Iowa, Grand View, Utah Valley, Nebraska-Omaha, Lindenwood, Wartburg, Iowa, South Dakota State, Wisconson, UW LaCross, William Penn, Ellsworth, Nebraska-Lincoln

The other D-I schools usually only send redshirts and backups.
A couple years ago, Iowa's VaTech transfers were there, minus Brent Metcalf. Last year the meet was thinner on talent, with the exception of Northern Illinois' Pat Castillo, who was ranked in the top-15.

The weight classes of primary interest for Iowa State will be 174 and 184 pounds. Duke Burk (174) will likely sit out the tournament. At 184 pounds, there could be a rematch between Jerome Ward and Joe Curran.

We couldn't fit this info into the sports section Iowa State Daily, which I write for. I'll be covering the tournament on Saturday, and most all of the team's events this season.

This is my fourth year covering the wrestling team. If you guys have questions or requests for stories or coverage, my email address is [email protected].

What time through the day are they going to be wrestling? My wife was under the impression that there was wrestling scheduled for 7 pm sat. night.

I don't have an official schedule, but past meets would indicate that the finals will stretch into the 6-7 p.m. range.

Before the Gene Chizik show - I believe - Cael mentioned that the finals could conflict with the start of the football game.

I could only stay for a little while, but here is a photo of Tyler Clark winning by fall in (I guess) his first match.
