Would you rather watch your typical 4 team playoff of Alabama/Ohio State/ Clemson/ Notre Dame (or SEC #@)
or a 16 team field playoff which could look something like the following (I left out all B1G and SEC schools, and omitted Iowa State to try and remove bias)

Oregon vs Central Michigan (MAC)
Stanford vs Texa Tech
Baylor vs Lousiana (Sunbelt)
Florida State vs Boise St
Washington vs Texas San Antonio (Conference USA)
North Carolina vs Oklahoma State
Cincinnati vs East Carolina (AAC)
Miami vs San Diego State (Mountain West)

I’d skip both, after the ISU bowl game. And I’d probably only be moderately interested in our own bowl game to be honest.

I guess I'm in the minority. I realize the domino implications of revenue loss, talent loss, coaching loss, but I'd still rather watch ISU with some semblance of parity versus the same 6-8 teams every year.

I wouldn't take it over our current situation, but I'm much more interested in having a vested interest in who I cheer for than just the "best" teams. My interest in the playoffs has already dropped over the past few years. Take away any shot of seeing ISU (or a team that we played) in it and the desire to watch drops dramatically.

*I'm basing this off the assumption that ISU could end up in the 16 team playoff
