Enjoy!

Unless one separates from the other over the next week, I'd let the QB's know in advance that you're gonna play Becht the 1st quarter, Kohl the 2nd quarter, and then play the 2nd half by ear.

This goes against my entire life ethos:

“Two is One, One is none.”
No, no, no! You've got it all wrong.

One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
Two can be as bad as one
It's the loneliest number since the number one

No is the saddest experience you'll ever know
Yes, it's the saddest experience you'll ever know
'Cause one is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
One is the loneliest number, whoa-oh, worse than two

Now don't be sad, (Don't be sad cause)
Cause two out of three ain't bad
Now don't be sad, (Cause)
Cause two out of three ain't bad

"If you've got two quarterbacks, you have none." - John Madden
My (possibly) hot take is that this concern is overrated. I think not having a clear #1 QB probably places a ceiling on a team, but I think that ceiling is high enough that it really only matters for teams competing at the top of a conference. For a team like Iowa State that probably has a bowl game (with 6, maybe 7 wins) as the highest logical ceiling, I don't think it matters much if there's a constant QB competition.

That all said, I think it requires skilled player management. It should help, though, when all of the QBs are young/haven't been on campus very long.

After listening to Nick Osen today (he's really really good btw) on KXNO I absolutely can't wait to see JJ play. And Abu Sama. And our tight ends. He has me drinking the Kool aid.

Is there a recording somewhere? We're 1.5 weeks out; it's time to hook it into the veins.
