Enjoy!

That podcast was difficult to listen to due the constant interrupting of Blum and CW’s weird rambling and jumping around from one topic to another. Not sure if alcohol or caffeine was to blame, if so, moderation is recommended.

Personally, I like this. It never feels scripted and more like two friends talking ISU (with 1,000x the inside information and insight of normal people). If you want Xs and Os breakdown, other people like Jay Jordan or Bruns can provide that. Williams and Blum is one of my only “must listen podcasts” for me each week.

That said, some constructive feedback for Chris…there are A LOT of ads these days. Completely understand you need that to keep things going but the days where you had a small few advertisers you weaved into the show were a much smoother and easier listen. It now feels like there are 15+ mins of ads each show and they are very repetitive. Maybe it’s a necessity in this environment but smaller # of more impactful ads/partners makes for a much better listen. My humble two cents.

Most of their podcasts are pretty brutal to listen to. Too much homerism, and not enough hard analytical discussion.

They have podcasts that are more like that. This pod is more for those who enjoy the banter between a couple of big ISU fans/insiders. Different people like different things, maybe this one just isnt for you

I still contest that the 2GNC with Blum and Hassel is the greatest single episode CF/IE has put out. Those two were great together and it was a wonderful blend of statistical analysis and banter without CW dominating the conversation.

Blum and Hassel need a regular podcast together and I think giving up the Wednesday Williams & Blum pod would be a perfect way to facilitate that without oversaturating the listeners.

This last one exceeded typical levels of interruption, needless rambling and not staying on point with the topic at hand to the point where I came close to stopping it mid-stream.

But you came back for more?

Like when I worked in restaurants and the same people would walk out and complain about something only to do the same thing the next week.

People come to a website to anonymously criticize a 3+ year podcast run by two lifelong buddies/cyclones/insiders...really??

its a podcast - not a master's thesis.

if you don't like it, don't listen.

if you don't like ads, hit that button on your phone/carplay that skips them.

I think the sunday night pod is the best addition to cyclone media in years.

As I posted, the last one exceeded tolerable thresholds. Hopefully it was an atypical outlier.

I will say, thought CW’s dark take was true… “if we played Oklahoma 10 times this year, we probably go 0-10.” Mic drop.
That didn't even strike me as dark when he said it.... just an obvious fact. He said and it was followed by a brief pause while Blum considered it and I recall thinking "well, yeah."

Most sports podcasts are more like YouTube video rambling than investigative journalism
This is exactly right and there's nothing wrong with it. I can't listen to Huberman Lab for 5 hours while driving; too much brain capacity needed. I'll listen to something heavy like that for a couple hours then flip to CF of IE shows so I can just drive and casually listen.
