Will KU start getting 1st place votes?

KU has put up 62 points on Nebraska and the 3rd quarter isn't over yet. Does anybody think they'll start getting first place votes in the polls tomorrow? I'm starting to wonder...

I think so. People complain that they haven't played anyone yet, but can you really say that #1 Ohio State has either? The big 10 isn't impressing me - so why shouldn't a KU with the same record get the same placement?

Because KU is not a traditional powerhouse. I would not give them a 1st place vote over OSU either, until they actually beat somebody that is really I don't think OSU is the best team, I think LSU is.

69 points at end of 3rd! Holy crap - what is the fat man trying to do?

BTW; KU has 74 offensive plays; I was thinking about ISU vs Neb and didn't we have a really high number of plays from scrimmage?

No because blowing out Nebraska means nothing these days

I agree with that, but KU has been putting up big scores all year, except the last 2 weeks, but those were on the road against semi-decent teams (Colorado and A&M).

I could see KU getting votes just because this offensive explosion will probably get them some time on the national sports scene.

Ok now this has got me wondering if Callihan gets canned after this or if they'll still wait until the end of the season.

It will be an interesting last few weeks for the Jayhawks. They'll finish the season with Okie St., obviously no cupcake as the Cowboys lead Texas right now 21-7 and are tied for the south lead. Obviously we go play them in a couple weeks, in a game I would love to see us win, but they are obviously a very talented team. If they survive us and Okie St. they could go into their matchup with Mizzou playing for the North crown and a a berth in the Big 12 Championship game.

But if they make the championship game at 12-0, probably ranked #4 or #5 and if Oklahoma wins out they would probably be in the #2 or #3 spot, and if Kansas were to beat Oklahoma, I think you could see Kansas in the BCS title game. .

Kansas playing Missouri for the Big 12 North championship? In football? I think that's the first sign of the appocalypse.

KU needs to win convincingly against Mizzouri, avoid us upsetting them and win against OU convincingly to have a host.....and it'll help for some other teams to keep losing.

KU might, and probably should, start picking up 1st place votes. I don't think they're good enough to be #1, but then again, neither is tOSU.

I hope things shake out so that Kansas has to beat us to win the north. Then we totally punk them as payback for 2005.

The winner of the Oregon Arizona State contest is more likely to get a first place vote than Kansas.

I think everyone expects Oklahoma to beat them in the Big XII championship. If they could win that game though I think they would have to get serious consideration.
