NFL: Why would you let him back in

because just like some starry eyed school girls think they can tame that wild, bad boy, on a moped, there are some NFL coaches who think they can wrangle in and control any misfit player the league coughs out at them. For crying out loud, Ryan Leaf got 2 more chances after San Diego. Why would Russell be any different? You're talking about ball coaches with mega egos, here.

Remember, Mike Shanahan drafted Maurice Clarett in the 3rd round. How is taking a look at Jamarcus uncharacteristic for him at all?

If Shanahan thinks McNabb's "cardiovascular condition" is questionable, what does he think Russell's is going to be like? If Russell gets cut he's gonna bleed gravy.

I just find it funny that he thought McNabb was fat and slow, so he brings in this guy.

You think McNabb knows how to make some tasty purple drink? I doubt it, they need somebody like JaMarcus to mix that **** up for the team, get the clubhouse loose.

Because:
1) Players with extraordinary talent can change the game.
2) The pressure to win now is immense in the NFL.

Combine those two together and it creates a situation where coaches are willing to take risks on players with issues. Many/most times it doesn't work out, but if a coach gets lucky an hits one that does pan out, he might be able to ride his gamble to the playoffs and beyond.
