Why should Hawk fans care who we Cyclones have for a Head Football Coach?

I have been around the Cy-Hawk series since the series restarted and before it was called the the Cy-Hawk series. That being said, I have my fair share of rational and irrational Hawkeye friends as well as my fair share of rational and irrational Cyclone fans. I have read some comments from Hawk fans giving their opinion as to who Iowa State should hire ( or have hired) when it comes to Coach Campbell. Most of those comments have been of the " should have gone after a named coach" or at the very least negative in nature. My question is ," why do they feel it necessary to comment at all?" Thoughts?
 
I don't think it's a rule that you can only have opinions about things that you like.
 
The same reason they will argue with you on why Mac shouldnt have been pushed out and CPR shouldn't have been fired. You have to remember this is a fan base that wanted the coach that took their team to 2 BCS bowls fired, when most will tell you a BSC bowl every 5 to 10 years is a good program goal.
 
Because I think Miller and Deace assumed Pollard would hire another P5 assistant so we could fail yet again for another 7 years. This is the first time in nearly 30 years that we've been able to hire a HC from another team. What I find so funny about Jon Miller and Steve Deace is that at least I remember alot of Iowa fans and media really questioning the KF hire. He was an Oline coach and was a HC at Maine...Matt Campebell is an Oline coach and was a HC at Toledo. Urban Meyer wanted to hire MC as his OC..that should tell you something. Campbell was born to be a HC and lead. Time will tell if it will be a slam dunk. i think that Campbell will drastically improve our O and D lines and put together a staff that will improve recruiting as well....that is all we can ask for. You put sound offense and defensive lines on field and recruit better and you can win at Isu.

In all fairness, most Iowa fans did not attend the University of Iowa, or college what so ever, so you can't blame them for not being educated.
 
I haven't read any of the posts in this thread, but in response to the title of this thread my guess would be "because we play Iowa State every year", but that's just a hunch.
