We heard INJURY most of the way, but the announcers (who are idiots, I know) brought up that Rose chose not to play. I don't wanna hear rumors from everyone, I wanna know from someone that actually KNOWS for sure, one way or the other.

Booger thought Breece was playing. These announcers are idiots.

Does anyone honestly believe that a completely healthy Mike Rose would CHOOSE not to play tonight….. don’t be stupid……. of course he was injured in some fashion.
You could very well be right but still think that general thought it very old fashioned. I think Breece is pretty damn competitive as well but sometimes it’s just not worth the risk.

Unless mike rose checks CF and comments or gives an interview isn’t anything a rumor?

He has been banged up since before the WVU game and it's still lingering. Campbell advised him (and Breece) to sit out.

As much as I would have liked Rose to have played, he can make himself some money by having a solid Senior Bowl. Like you said, he's been battling injuries and if he re-injured himself, he might risk missing the Senior Bowl.

Honest question. Do players really open eyes or gain draft positions at the Senior Bowl or does it all come down to the combine?

And as someone else mentioned, whatever Mike's reasons were are good enough for me. I shudder to think what his senior year could've been because even being hurt most of the year, he was better than 99% of the LBS I saw. Absolute Cyclone legend!

He was originally injured vs K State, which was why he was taken off the field 3 times vs OSU and didn't play vs WVU. He's been an absolute warrior for us the entire year. If he was able to go he would have played today. The man is a Cyclone legend and always laid it all out on the field for us and will forever have my gratitude

The Senior Bowl is a big deal because NFL coaches coach the players and NFL GM's observe practices and games up close. They can make side by side comparisons of players.

I doubt Rose is going to run a 4.5 forty at the combine- so on field at senior bowl can reinforce his ISU production.

Also, NFL guys might like to see him in a traditional 4-3 defense where the DL eats up blockers.

Cool. I can't remember the last time I watched or even really paid attention. Sounds like a great opportunity for him and I hope he's healthy enough to show out.
