Get ready, Cyclone fans. Which teams will court CPR? His resume speaks for itself. I think he's perfectly content at ISU, but I imagine he'll try to leverage this season into more money. Honestly, ISU needs to do whatever it can to keep him here.

Coach will get his pay increased ... I'm not worried about losing him.

If I had to guess Penn State..... They would do anything for a high character guy like CPR to turn that program around. Doubt he would take it though..

Anyone with an opening would be smart to make the call. Hopefully we can keep him happy enough to keep him around at least a few more years.

Penn State would be my most hated team if they took Rhoads from us. I'd HATE to see him go somewhere else, especially if he were to struggle. He has put a lot of effort into building something special here in Ames and still aways away from his plateau (I bet he'd say the same thing.) he can coach at ISU for as long as he wants imo and yes, give him the money I-State!

Probably PSU. But, we'll give CPR a nice raise for him and his assistants and he will stay.

If he left ISU just for more money, he would lose all the enormous credibility that he has earned. All that recruiting power he now has would evaporate. How many coaches are out there that you can actually legitimately expect to stay anywhere long enough to coach you to graduate?

CPR may never make the most money, but he will make plenty, maybe even more than big name coaches because he will get paid for 30 years at that "lower" rate.

And become an icon!

Gotta admit, I've never really given any merit to the "who will steal Rhoads" threads until tonight, but this game will have everyone's attention. If someone tries, I doubt we'll ever hear about it from him, but you can count on him being mentioned as a candidate for a lot of jobs that open up. Hopefully he comes out and makes a statement that he isn't going anywhere. I'd believe it from Rhoads, but we've heard that before ("firmly entrenched").

And agree, the thought of losing another coach to PSU makes me cringe, that would be the ultimate kick in the nuts.

Paul's not going anywhere. He's got a dream job.

It is not just his dream job. It is a fit. He could be good almost anywhere, but great only here.

And if he leaves (or even acts like he would consider leaving), he will sour his recruiting. Now, he can tell someone that they will play for him if they come to Iowa State for all 4-5 years. Who else can believeably say that?

An extra million or so can make 'fit' go right out the window. He could have a good fit somewhere else too.

I hope we can keep him around for awhile, but end of the day, if other schools are offering you big pay jumps, you have to at least consider it.

I'm not a millionaire, but what can you do with an extra 1-2 million a year? I really think he is too emotionally attached to ISU. With that said, get the man a raise. He shouldn't be the least paid coach in the BIG12

Time to start donating, my fellow Cyclone fans, if you aren't already. I'll be honest, I have not been donating. That will start with my season ticket renewal next year.

Pollard will do the right thing. He will do all he can to keep Rhoads here....hell, he did it with Chizik and he was a freaking terrible fit here. The money will be coming in, we WILL pay Rhoads what the market will bear.....I believe he will stay here if we make it worth his while.
