It seems like a hundred years ago that going down to the Big 12 (8) basketball tournament in Kansas City was exciting to go to for us ISU fans.

However, I am thinking about going down this year. I realize Hoiberg and crew will most likely be one and done (and I hope I am really wrong on that), but who cares? I miss that time of year down in K.C. I love K.C. during the Big 12 (8) tournament time. It was always fun to go around from bar to bar to see who you would run into. I remember running into Billy Tubbs at one bar, and man was he a hoot.

And I also like going to the women's tournament games.

So, who's with me? Anyone else planning on making the trip south?

I'll be down there for the mens game at 2 pm...really hoping k-state or baylor are the 4/5 seeds so we can maybe pull off a couple miracles

I did last year but looks like I will take this year off and hope next year we are more than a 1 and done type of team. The downtown hotel we stayed at last year is nearly $70 more a night than it was last year which was another deciding factor since we stayed 4 nights there last year. Have a feeling next year we might have to stay somewhere that is not walking distance to everything, it was conveinent but for over $200 a night per room now not going to be very affordable.

I will be there. If you haven't been down for Big 12 tourney time with the "new" Power and Light district, you are missing out. Unfortunately, there's a good chance the men and women will play at the same time on Wednesday afternoon, which could hinder some of the fun. But the atmosphere around the Sprint Center is tremendous regardless.

I could google this, but will the tournament be in KC next year as well?

The Big 12 basketball tourney for the men will be in KC through 2014. The women are signed through 2013 in KC. They haven't decided yet on 2014.

I ended up getting a room at the Westing Crown Center for 89 bucks a night through Hotwire about 3 weeks ago. A 4 star hotel that is about a mile from the Sprint Center.
This will be my first trip down and I cant wait! Go State!

I will be there. Power and Light District and ******* with Kansas fans...always a good time. I will miss Kelly's though. May have to stop in there for the hell of it, even though it's now far from the action.

Whats the best way to get a couple of tickets? Is it just best to scalp them? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Also, wanted to let everyone know if you name your own price on priceline you can still get a good deal on hotels.. just got the homestead country club plaza for $35 a night; only four miles from the Sprint Center and .8 miles from kelly's ;)
