MLB: White Sox and Dunn Reach Agreement...

Not what our manager calls "small-ball" at all...not sure how I feel about this other than at least the White Sox are spending money, just wish they would spend on the bullpen!

White Sox Reach Agreement With Adam Dunn: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com

Small-ball in Chicago is nothing more than a myth really. As much as Ozzie would love to say his team plays small ball, they've never finished lower than 6th in the AL in HRs since he was manager.

This deal solidifies two needs for the Sox. For one, it fills the need for a lefty power hitter who will probably hit 40 or more a year in the Cell. Secondly, the Sox save money to sign Paul Konerko to the four-year deal he wants, probably.

I love this deal on so many levels. The Sox have bullpen issues, but they took care of one of those issues by nontendering Jenks. It's good business.

Thornton, Sale, and probably some free agents will have a chance to close, I'd bet. I hope they figure something out for that bullpen, but in the meantime... Christmas came early on offense!

Dunn is going to look like Babe Ruth in the DH spot after the disaster that was Mark Kotsay last year. Great move for them, wish the Cubs had enough money to get him.

Scanning the net...and listening to reports on the radio it sounds as if the White Sox are close to announcing a deal with Konerko as well. If so, I guess I like the Dunn signing more with those two in the middle of the order as opposed to just switching Dunn in for Konerko. Still no catcher and not much in the bullpen. Wondering if they are thinking more and more about leaving Sale in the pen? He, Santos and Thorton are a solid start when building a strong pen!

You won't need much of a bullpen if you're scoring 10 runs a game. That lineup is going to be extremely fun to watch.

dont worry to much you guys will somehow find a way to win huge sox fan but love gardey.

Yes, I really like this move. Dunn is another example of a failed Cubs move also. I mean they gave Milton 3/30 when they could of had Dunn for 2/20/
